Explore the world's most famous museum - The Louvre - with this exclusive Skip-the-Line tour!
With this all-inclusive small group tour, you will explore this stunning collection of paintings, sculpture and architecture with an expert English-speaking guide.
You will enter the museum through the original Medieval structure that dates back to the 12th century and was originally intended as a fortress. Join your guide on a journey from one breathtaking gallery to the next as you travel through time visiting works dating from nearly 450 BCE through the 19th century.
Begin with the Ancient Greek Parthenon, then gaze at the impeccably graceful Venus de Milo. Admire one of the Louvre's most celebrated sculptures, Winged Victory of Samothrace. Continue on to the Apollo Gallery that houses the ornate royal crowns of Napoleon and King Louis XV and be riveted by the valiant tales of these inimitable leaders.
This tour was specifically conceived and designed to bring together all of the museum's most famous works. Stand in awe as you enter each new wing and are blown away some of the world's most significant and recognizable masterpieces. Marvel at influential pieces such as Canova's Psyche and Cupid and Delacroix's famous painting depicting the sentiment of the French Revolution, Liberty Leading the People. The work of the master Michelangelo awaits you in the Italian renaissance wing, and you will discover firsthand what makes Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa the most enigmatic portrait of all time.
The Louvre Museum hosts more than 35,000 pieces of artwork spanning over 60,000 square meters of exhibition space. This Skip-the-Line, small group tour will lead you comfortably through the galleries so that you can explore all of the masterpieces from Ancient Greece and Rome, to Renaissance Italy, and 19th century France, in the most comprehensive visit available without the hassle of waiting in long lines.
Sites visited include, but are not limited to the Sully Wing, Roman Sculpture Hall, Venus de Milo, Frieze of the Parthenon, Etruscan Artifacts, Winged Victory of Samothrace, The Apollo Gallery (crowns of Louis XV and Napoleon), Italian Renaissance Wing (DaVinci's Madonna on the Rocks, the Mona Lisa), French Wing (David's Coronation of Napoleon, Delacroix's Victory Leading the People), Michelangelo's Slaves and Canova's Psyche and Cupid.
Please note that the meeting location will be confirmed after booking. The information will be shown on the voucher you receive.
The service concludes at about 12:45 p.m./ 5:30 p.m./ 9:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Louvre, just under the Pyramid.
Your guide will meet you outside at the Arc du Carrousel, which is the monumental arch with a horse drawn chariot on top visible from the courtyard of the Louvre, between the Tuilleries Garden and the Louvre entrance. He/she will be holding a sign.
