The Panjianyuan Market was interesting, and fun to explore - LOTS of beads! If you are into jewelry making this is a must stop for you! There were many stalls with lots of authentic and not authentic antiques, hard to know what was what. My guide Kelly, was excellent! She was so valuable in communication and negotiating with vendors. Her English is excellent. While she was super helpful at the market, I think she really made my day by teaching me the Beijing subway system, the ticket machine, and reading the map - after my tutorial with her I was totally comfortable getting around Beijing via subway (the only way to go in my book...!) by myself. She is knowledgeable, friendly and really a nice person to spend a day (or part of a day) with. She met me at my hotel, right on time, and I couldn't have asked for a better guide for the morning!
