This truly will be an experience you will never forget! You can even choose a starting time at 5 AM to catch the sunrise over Kilauea. Another advantage to starting so early is having the park almost to ourselves!

Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness

We use a Ford F150, 4-door pickup truck modified for off-road use. Must be able to get in and out of the truck unassisted.

Scott was great! It was a 6 am tour so he showed us the red glow, steam vent, and lava tube amount other things. He explained lots and showed us lots of things. We saw the red glow, rainbow, ocean and a helicopter landing and taking off from the old lava field. Great tour!!!! I would highly recommend!!

Second time doing a tour with Scott. This time spent the entire time at Volcanoes National Park. Scott knows the best places to go and see from his explorations around the volcano. Whenever the next time I go back, will be giving Scott a call again.

Best tour! Private and designed to our requests. 2-3 hrs depending on what all you want to see. Scott knows his stuff! So informative about not only volcanoes but local trees, plants & agriculture. He is kind and funny and transparent - and a Seinfeld fan! - like you’ve known him forever! Mostly driving from place to place with some walking in between - nothing challenging, also based on your abilities . He brought a tripod scope & focused it on bubbling lava - once in a lifetime for us! Ask for suggested directions to meeting point - we didn’t and took the longer way. LOL Absolutely 100% recommend this PERSONALIZED tour!!

We had such a great time with Scott. Because we booked a private tour, we were able to go at our own pace and spend more time in places we found the most interesting or hop out in unplanned spots. The kids were able to ask questions as they popped up and they left with such an excitement over what they had learned. Definitely something we would recommend!

If you don't do anything else on the big island, do this tour!! Scott is a walking encyclopedia of the place, and will show you things there that you probably wont see otherwise. We didn't want it to be over. Super nice guy, and very thorough with the tour. We even found some of Pele's hair. For us, this was the highlight of our stay on the big island!

Scott was a blast! Extremely knowledgeable and told some incredible stories from the 2018 eruption that flowed through his neighborhood 25 miles away from the park! He took us off the beaten path and pointed out things that we would have otherwise driven right past. Amazing tour! Highly recommend over a self-tour of the National Park because there is so much to see! Scott knows all of the best (and secret) spots. Thanks Scott! We had a blast.

Fantastic tour of many parts of the. Volcano national park. Scott was great and gave us so much information about the areas. He even shared some of his delicious bananas from his house.
