This was one of the highlights of our trip to Scotland. Our guide, Bert, was fantastic. Not only did he take us to wonderful locations around town, he shared his passion for Edinburgh and the history of the city with us as we walked. We learned about Burns night and how food is integral to the celebrations. He was energetic, knowledgeable and just plain fun to be around. We were excited when we ran into him another day! The group was a great size, not too big, which made it even more fun as we could easily get to know other travelers and our wonderful host! I really can't recommend this enough - suggest you do this early in your trip as it's a great way to learn the city and you'll see things you may want to go back to like we did!

Great experience with Isabella. I loved to taste scottish food. The different places where we ate, the food, the stories told by Isabella made this tour an amazing experience.

As usual this Secret Food Tour with the highly entertaining and extremely informative Bert AKA Oliver was amazing. His energy and enthusiasm for everything Scottish makes for a pleasant and fulfilling afternoon. It's fun, it's informative, the food was incredible and you learn so much about the history of an area and the background of a culture and its food.

Excellent tour in October 2022 with Oliver (Bert)! He was super energetic and informative. Bert was very kind and made sure everyone was able to be engaged and enjoyed themselves on the tour. At each stop he immersed the group in the origin and history of the food we were experiencing. We would definitely recommend this food tour if visiting Edinburgh!

What a brilliant way to spend the afternoon, seeing beautiful Edinburgh and at the same time tasting some of the cities amazing food and drinks. The haggis was out of this world and the Cullen skink was amazing. Thank you Isabella for sharing your knowledge, stories and the surprises along the way. I really didn’t need to eat anymore for the rest of the day. The whole day was my kind of heaven. Thank you.

Our guide Bert was wonderful. He was so knowledgeable and did a wonderfully job and each place we visited was great

I have to admit it, this was my least favorite of the tours I have done with them. The options were just OK and I feel like I was still hungry by the end which is not normal compared to the others I have done with this company.

I cannot say better things about this tour but I’m certainly going to try. First, Emma was incredible. She is so sweet, smart, and a culinary graduate. The way she speaks about food and describes everything your eating I knew I had to ask her if she went to culinary school and she did. She speaks with passion and because of her passion she took us to the best places! I had an absolute blast. We learned about the fare but also the city. The way she tied everything together and we didn’t just go to the easy options of “here’s a couple random spots”. We went on a serious walk all over Edi. It not only helped between tastings (big portions BTW not your average tasting) but it was a fabulous sight at every turn. I loved all of it and I would do anything with her again!! Thank you for the best day and giving me a full belly and a great night sleep. I highly recommend a food tour whenever you’re in a new city but especially this one! Cheers!

Bert was class, he had a contagious passion for edinburgh and kept everything very entertaining. Highly recommend. Definitely wouldn’t have found the gems that we visited by ourselves, and really appreciated the history and facts that Bert had to tell us

Worth every pence! In fact this was one of the top experiences we had during our two weeks in Scotland. And while I know it was just the luck of the draw, we just couldn't imagine this tour being as delightful without Bert as our guide. What a gem...and those backward walking skills...uncanny! This a a guy you want to hang out with after the tour is long over. He puts in so much creative flair, intelligence and scholarly perspective. I don't know that we will ever meet someone as excited about Haggis, Neeps and Tatties! Honestly it was fine, and fun to experience the national dish but there were other stops that surpassed Haggis in terms of culinary pleasure. We highly recommend this tour and would book it again when we return to Edinburgh.
