Had an amazing time. The whole team made it very smooth. Mark, our pilot, was engaging, friendly and informative. He gave us a couple of thrills in the air whilst showing us some amazing wildlife he had seen earlier in the day. I felt incredibly safe the whole time.
This was hands down the best thing I did in NZ. It is mind blowing when it comes to the scenery. Be warned the weather can cancel your trip very quickly so maybe plan your ride at the beginning of your time near Mt Cook and have back up times after. It would be awful to have it cancelled due to weather and not be able to rebook as your holiday ends or you leave town.
Totally amazing trip! Mark the pilot gave us an awesome experience. Stopped and walked on the glacier. We will be talking about this flight for years to come. We’ll worth the experience
Amazing experience on the Glacier Tour! Very friendly guides and great trip, including snow landing on Liebig Dome. Really appreciated that the pilot turned the engine off when we had landed to better experience the place. Also had friendly and prompt communications with the service team after the trip to sort out payment issues.
Lived up to all my expectations. Flying over Tasman Lake we saw where we had been in the morning on the Lake Trip. The Tasman Glacier Lake now looking so vast, then over the glacier face looking down into the crevasses. The helicopter rises with the terrain and the glacier starts to smooth out. Then you're on top of the world with Southern Alps surrounding you, a sweep around the top of the glacier before our pilot lands onto the powder snow. Its so eerily quiet way up there. Crunching through the snow. The day was perfect and the ride down equally as good. Maybe being the last flight of the day we got a full hour.
We booked the exclusive 30 minute helicopter experience and it was awesome! We had re-booked our flight for an earlier time due to incoming bad weather. This was so easy to do through email - got a response with new booking details within a couple of minutes! All staff involved on the day of our flight were so friendly and helpful - such a well run operation! Thank you to all and to our Pilot, Reece, making it an experience we will never forget😊
So stoked about the experience we had with inflite. I spoke to them for sometime prior to our flight to discuss engagement ideas to ensure it was a memorable day. Talk about going above and beyond - thank you so much! Hannah - Special mention to you. You're a massive asset to inflite and super helpful. Cant wait to come back!
We went to the airport hoping that we could get a last minute flight up to the glacier, Holly on the check in managed to get us on a flight which we could not thank her enough. The company are very professional and take the time to ensure that you get the best experience ever. Our pilot gave a great commentary and covered just about every detail that you could wish to know. This is a must do trip at least once in a lifetime as the glaciers are disappearing.
We had planned to do this trip in Fox Glacier but it was clouded over then we scheduled to Fox Glacier the next day and was rained out. Third time lucky we did the Helicopter Tasman Taster in Mount Cook. It was touch and go if were to fly out but we managed to fly and it was exhilarating. The staff were lovely and the training session good. The pilot managed a flawless landing on the snow and took fantastic photos of us all before rushing us back onto the helicopter as the snow and weather was closing in. What an amazing experience and highly recommended
I booked the skiplane/helicopter tour weeks ago, but upon arriving in Mt Cook Village received word that my tour was canceled. There were able to find room for me on another earlier tour with just the helicopter. I understand weather and other factors are beyond their control, and appreciated the effort to still find another option. I did find the communication lacking once I arrived at the airport and felt unsure when I was now supposed to go and what to expect. My original tour was at 4 with a pickup at my accommodation at 3:15. The I was told my tour would be at 3 with a pickup at 2:15. I ended up waiting around the airport until close to 3:45 when the finally took us out. There was not a lot of communication over what was going on. Again I appreciate safety concerns, but communication could be better. My complaint about poor communication is also related to my payment. I reserved with one CC, but when I arrived stated that I wanted to use a different one. They said I would pay afterwards when they settled on how long we would go up for. Afterwards they said they had already charged my card that I had used for my reservation. Poor communication overall. The helicopter ride itself was decent. Note that only the person sitting in front is really able to take good photos. We were on the glacier for a little under 10 minutes, but had a chance to take a few photos. I recommend positioning yourself well in the helicopter. Overall I enjoyed it, but was rather underwhelmed from what I was expecting from other reviews.
