The Amazon/Cuyabeno is amazing. Nicky Lodge was good. Our guide; Jefferson M. was extremely great. I feel Rebecca Adventure Travel is overpriced as I seemed to have paid double when compared to travelers who booked directly with Nicky Lodge or travelers who booked with Secret Garden - Quito. I paid close to double what other travelers paid. In hindsight, I should have shopped around a little more and I will never book with Rebecca Adventure Travel inthe future. Another disappointment with the trip was when 5 travelers (myself included) came down with food poisoning on the second to last day and had to travel on a 10 hour bus ride while sick. Brutal! The lodge didn't seem to care nor did they offer a solution.

Everything was amazing. We did a lot of things and saw a lot of different animals. Our tourguide Elias was very good and knew everything about the flora and fauna!

A 2019 booking for Easter 2020, we cancelled they rebooked for 2021, we cancelled they rebooked for 2022, no flights to Lago Agrio they found us the best tour guide to pick us up in UIO airport and drive us to the reserve, 8 hours on paved roads in a Hyundai Tucson that was super comfortable. The tour itself was safe, clean and the food was delicious. If you are hesitating between the 4 and 5 day tours the difference is the best day of the tour being added, you will be dropped by motorboat to near a fishing spot, then you will fish for man eating Piraña fish, then you will cook them and paddle back to the main river. The teamwork and enjoyment of cooking what could eat you cannot be underestimated. Other highlights of this tour were the evening sunsets over the magnificence Lago Grande, spotting wildlife from pink river dolphins to caymans to toucans to monkeys. I've travelled most Andean countries and know the risks of booking the wrong amazon tour, I know thew temptation to book through an agency where the pricing looks almost too good to be true. In this case Rebecca Travel are a really great operator where you get what they promise at prices that do not involve price gouging like many overseas agencies. If you book through them they can also offer a myriad of other services such as transfers, private tours of Quito and the rest of Ecuador. If you want value at a safe, high quality level then look no further.

Rebecca Adventure Travel organized this trip for us, from and back to Quito. The logistics were perfect. Jamu Lodge surpassed our expectations. Very good food, very good guides who showed us lots of different species of animals. And they even had rubber boots size 47!

The stay at Jamu Lodge was actually very good, but that is not what this review is about. Also - whatever the experience at the lodge, the Rebecca Adventure Tours has no merit in it - all services are provided by lodge, the company is just a middle man. The lodge has a webpage that is easy to find... This however is about the single traveller policy that did not work out so great. Here how it is described at the company's webpage: "If you are a single traveler and you would like to visit the Amazon with our tour program you can do it without paying any extra single travelers’ fee at least if you willing to share your cabin with another person of the same gender. If you would like to have your own private cabin with your private bathroom it is possible but there is a single fee of 70%." Great, I thought, just what I need. I am certainly willing to share. And this is how it worked out. Having made payment, and received confirmation that all has been payed and arranged, what an unpleasant surprise it was to receive message that: ups, we haven´t find anyone who wants to share the room with you, so be so kind as to pay the single supplement. At that point I was trapped - pay up or no refund policy... Never mind that I had signed up under different understanding and did not want a single room. Lovely, right? The good news - at least they did not apply the 70% single supplement as noted on the website, instead it was 45%. Btw, on the Jamu lodge webpage it states that single supplement is 50%. One major reason why I choose the Rebecca Adventure tours was the policy quoted above and the fact that I thought they would stand by it as the company seems to be partially based in Europe. So sad about how it worked out in real life. When I pointed out the misleading information on the webpage, they said they would consider changing it - never mind, I was able to copy the text from the webpage today, just as it was when I was doing my research in November / December.
