Know More about this tour

Meet your Fun-n-Sun Guide, along with others from your ship, ONE HOUR after your ship's arrival at the dock...and begin your tour day in one of our air-conditioned tour vehicles. Your guide will share our unique landscape, local culture, as well as some Roatan/ Bay Island history. Your tour group will make several sightseeing stops along the way, allowing you to get outside of the vehicle for some outstanding photo opportunities. A stop at Roatan's Panorama Hill offers an open view of our island, villages and cruise ports. Some of the sights that we will share include: shipwrecks off the shoreline, the villages of Coxen Hole, French Harbor, Sandy Bay and West End, overlooks showing the jungles and coral reefs, etc.

Then, a 45-minute stop and optional free access to Victor's Monkey Business. Here, you may visit the monkeys, sloths, parrots, island deer, and other animals, if you like. Or, alternatively, do some on-site souvenir shopping for Honduran products (mahogany crafts, coffee, vanilla, etc.) If you'd rather, kick back on one of our hammocks or picnic tables surrounded by tropical trees and watch guests as they zip along on the Mayan Jungle Canopy overhead. (Unfortunately, this tour does not allow extra time for the zipline experience, please see our other VIATOR tour "Zipline, Monkey and Parrot Interaction plus Beach Resort Combo Tour in Roatan" for a tour that DOES include the zipline!) Restroom facilities are available here, too!

After a bit more sightseeing, we will stop by West Bay Beach and the Bananarama Beach Resort. This is Roatan's most beautiful white sand beach, lined with resorts, restaurants and bars. This is a 2-hour stop and you will be able to explore the mile-long beach, snorkel, swim and relax! You will be provided with an arm-band allowing you access to a beach chair, restroom facilities and fresh water showers at Bananarama Resort! West Bay Beach, protected by the offshore reef, is a wonderful sea grass and rock-free beach with powder-soft sand unlike any other beach on Roatan...it is groomed and maintained daily. There are many water-activities available here, and you can rent most anything: kayaks, canoes, snorkel gear, jet-skis, parasail, bananaboats, etc. Or, just relax and enjoy a cold beverage or a snack at one of the many restaurants or bars, including the tasty menu at Bananarama!

After your beach-break, we will load back up and do a bit more sightseeing on our way back to the cruise ship ports. Our Highlights tour is designed to allow for more shopping time in and around your dock upon your return.

Note that our Fun-n-Sun tour is a group excursion with others from your ship, and operates on a set itinerary. • We very much enjoyed our day in Roatan and this excursion is great value for the money. Our guide Elin? was very personable and kept us entertained throughout our travel. The visit with the monkeys, macaws and sloths made for forever vacation memories. West Bay Beach was wonderful. I only wish out ship would have docked earlier and we would have had more time there.

  • The tour, once it started, was excellent. Our driver/guide, Angel, was courteous, professional and knowledgeable. The stop at Victor's Monkey Business was a lot of fun. West Bay Beach Resort was nice and the facilities were clean. We took 1 star off the rating because we showed up on time but were told by Bodden the tour operator to keep waiting for another group. Finally, after a long wait, the other group never showed up, so Bodden gave up on them and put us in a small, old sedan instead of a minivan. My advice to Bodden for the future is not to be too deferential to the people who are tardy or no-shows at the expense of the people who show up on time. A courtesy wait of 10-15 minutes would seem reasonable enough.

  • We would not do this again. Too many pot-holes and bad roads. The West Bay Beach is ok if you want tons of people trying to sell you something and only sandy beach snorkeling is boring there. I should have booked something more to do with their beautiful reef.

The guides driving and talking about the island were polite and informative, but it was the excursion I didn't care for.

  • A super interesting and fun 5 hours full of sightseeing, monkeys and sloths, and a gorgeous beach resort.

  • This is an awesome tour. The monkeys and holding a sloth were the highlight of my trip.Bananarama beach was very clean .

  • Loved this tour, even though we had a cloudy day. The guide was very knowledgable. The monkey jungle was so much fun. We absolutely loved the time at the Bananarama Resort

  • This tour was amazing, great value for the $. Julie-Beth was informative the highlight was see the monkey, sloth and the birds. Got a chance to get close with the animals. Stop at the chocolate factory and saw the process from start to finish. It was raining so the beach stop was a bit disappointing

  • Booked this based on reviews but a bit disappointing I would say. Didn't like the monkey place......poor animals stuck in cages!
The beach was ok but it was a very windy day so not best day for beach. The guide spoke quietly on the minibus and we couldn't hear what she was saying.

  • A lot of uneventful driving

  • This was an awful waste of time. My tour van with 9 passengers spent HOURS driving from one side of the island to the other, with only 4 stops, two stops that allowed for us to get out and walk around...at the Monkey Farm, and the beach. And, of course, the driver made sure we stopped at a road side row of souvenir stands. The driver was almost totally silent as we bumped over unpaved, uneven roads, answering questions that he was asked, but not offering any information himself. He stopped on the main road outside a beautiful mansion and says, this is the home of the former mayer. That was it! Then we drove back the way we'd come to another site where, in the great distance, we could spot the ocean. He says, Down there is the golf course. Where, we asked, not being able to see a thing. Near the beach he responds. We couldn't see that, either. There was NOTHING else to see on the island, and we never stoped in Coxen Hole...like everywhere else, just drove through. I lost count of the number of wonderful photo opts seen through the window as we sped along, realizing that the driver wasn't going to stop anywhere. He told us nothing of the history or culture of the island or people, Roatan's connection to the mainland of Honduras nothing of the origins of the citizens, the education system, employment, etc. etc., nothing, nothing, nothing. If I hadn't experienced an incredibly wonderful tour through Viator earlier this past summer I would never want to give them another chance. But I know they can do better. Far better than this poor excuse for a half day island tour. I would not recommend it to anyone. Needs a complete overhaul and reconsideration...and better local tour guides!
