Day 1 Airport to Windhoek (D)
Upon arrival at the Hosea Kutako International Airport, Discovery Transfer and Tours will gather your luggage and take you from the airport to Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia. After your long journey you will be dropped off at the Discovery Guest House where you will check-in and enjoy some rest and relaxation. Later in the afternoon you can take a free township tour before returning to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 2 Windhoek - Sossusvlei (BLD)
After breakfast you will check-out and be picked up from Discovery Guest House and drive south to the world-famous Sossusvlei; traveling through the picturesque Spreetshoogte Pass. You will have a stop-over at the viewpoint to appreciate the endless view of the Namib. Your lunch will be at the Solitaire Oasis. You will arrive at the Solitaire Guest Farm in the afternoon, where you will check-in and then go to visit the fascinating rock formation of the Sesriem Canyon, climbing Elim Dune that overlooks the beautiful desert horizon. Dinner will top off the adventures of your first day when you return to camp. After dinner you will turn in for the night.
Day 3 Sossusvlei (BLD)
You will wake at sunrise, have breakfast and drive to Sesriem Gate, the entrance to the remarkable Sossusvlei. Your day will start off climbing the picturesque Dune 45, experiencing the beauty and vastness of the orange-colored landscape. An off-road drive to the surreal Dead Vlei comes next. You can take on climbing one of the highest dunes on Earth, the “Big Daddy” or “Big Mama”. The 360 degree panoramic views of the “Sea of Sand” are incredible. Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei are considered some of the most photogenic places on Earth! Along the way, you have the chance to view ostrich, oryx, bat-eared fox, springbok, possibly cheetah and various birdlife that inhabit the desert. In the afternoon you will have some time for rest and relaxation in the quiet atmosphere of the Namib desert before returning to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 4 Sossusvleis - Windhoek (BL)
After breakfast you will check-out and return to Windhoek traveling through the beautiful Spreetshoogte Pass. On your way back yo will stopover at Solitaire. You will arrive back in Windhoek before lunch. You will be dropped-off at the hotel/lodge of your choice. This is the end of the first part of your tour.
Day 5 Windhoek - Etosha National Park (BLD)
After breakfast you will be picked up from the Discovery Guest House and head north. You will stop for a lovely lunch break in Otjiwarongo or Outjo. After lunch you will continue your drive through Etosha National Park in search of elephant, rhino, zebra, and various game animals like the oryx, kudu, wildebeest, impala, springbok, and gemsbok. You will also see giraffe, hyena and the big cats of Africa including the lion, leopard and cheetah inhabiting the enormous grasslands. You will arrive at the Okaukuejo Resort just before sunset where you will check-in, have dinner and settle in for the night. A good night's rest will be required so that you are able to wake-up early, refreshed and ready for your next adventure.
Day 6 Etosha National Park (BLD)
You will rise early and soon after breakfast start your full-day game drive in Etosha National Park. The early morning hours provide time for magnificent exploration as you visit the waterholes. You will get to visit the Etosha pan (salt pan) before game driving across the park in search of the “Big 5” and other animal species. A light lunch will be provided and allow you some time rest, gathering energy for your next adventure. After lunch and some rest and relaxation you will visit the last waterhole that will be the last appreciation of Namibia’s beauty. Before sunset you will head back to the lodge for dinner where you can share stories of your experiences of the day and also share and compare beautiful photos. After a night of stories and photos, you will turn in for the night.
Day 7 Etosha National Park - Windhoek (BL)
After breakfast you will check-out and travel back to Windhoek; driving through the park for your last glance at the landscape and in hopes of that last chance to view more wildlife. Before lunch you will be dropped-off at your choice of accommodations in Windhoek - we recommend Discovery Guest House. This is where your safari will end.
