  • Marissa was an excellent tour guide. Tons of knowledge and she is passionate of Athens and its history. I recommend the Ancient Agora Optional tour as it provided a complete understanding of the ancient Athens. HIGHLY recommended!!

  • We ended up having a private tour - 3 of us and the guide. Maria was very knowledgeable and we did learn some things, especially in the Agora when she was telling us about how the city was governed. Some of the information was a bit too basic, especially in the beginning of the tour, but better too much than too little. We never were rushed and and while the tour was 4 hours long, was very relaxing. I'm not sure if this would be the case if the tour group was larger, but with just the three of us we could spend as much or little time at any place along the tour.

  • Perfect amount of time, anything longer would have been too much. The only suggestions is that the tour should include more of the historical aspects of daily life during the period and the actual building of the Acropolis. Too much of the tour information focused on Greek Mythology. Overall, I recommend this tour especially the time of day as it was VERY HOT at the start of tour but eventually cooled off making the visit way more enjoyable. Make sure to wear rubber soles!!

  • Our guide made an effort to interest and inform us during the climb up and at the acropolis. I'm not sure what else she could have done. She was personable and knowledgable.

  • I so enjoyed this tour! It was extremely informative and very interesting. I got so much more out of visiting the Acropolis and the Agora than I would have had I been there without a guide. My Guide Effie was absolutely terrific - friendly and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this tour and this guide. Five stars!

  • It was informative
It provides details and a bit of history

  • Fantastic tour guide!!! Glad we went early in the morning, it was cooler and there were less people!!!

  • We were fortunate enough to be the only group to book this tour on a Sunday morning at 8am. Fortunate, because it essentially became a private tour. Mariza, our guide, was wonderful: friendly, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the history of her city. We have 3 young children aged 7, 4 and 2 and Mariza took both our daughters 7 and 4 and guided them around the Acropolis and gave them a history lesson no classroom could ever give them. She was brilliant and we are sure our girls will remember their history tour for a long time to come. Mariza engaged with the children and that in turn allowed the two of us adults to enjoy the sites without worrying about whinging kids. The place is spectacular and our tour with Mariza made it a truly excellent experience. The 8am start time also meant we were there before the large crowded tours entered the place and we were able to throughly enjoy the Acropolis and surrounds. It would have been wonderful to continue with Mariza and opt to see the Ancient Agora but with three children we didn't want to push our luck!

Things to consider if you are travelling with children - if you can manage without a stroller, that would be better as the Acropolis site doesn't allow them in there is a cloak room for them at the back entrance. Further if you are planning to be there for a 4-5 days let the tour company know as they can look to book the 4 day/30EUR entrance ticket for you and you can then also include the Ancient Agora and Temple of Zeus sites into your itinerary.

  • Fantastic tour.
Acropolis is a monuments of the city you should see with a licensed tour guide.
Mariza was amazing we enjoy learning about the seven sights of the Acropolis with her. Parthenon, Erechtium, Propaylaia Gates, Herodes Atticus Odeon, Ancient theatre of Dionysos all are indluded in the tour. We skiped the line by buying our tickets in advance. The most important part of this tour that made us to chooce is instead of other products is the aproeximity of the meeting point just by the Acropolis and the early start that gives you oportunity to avoid crowds and the strong heat of Athens. When you finish the tour the large groups arrive and the sun starts to burn. Thank you. Amazing experience.
ps: We regret we did not book the Ancient Agora extension of the tour.
