Know More about this tour

Alcatraz (morning)
Before your scheduled departure time, use your voucher to pick up your admission ticket to Alcatraz at Pier 33. After boarding the ferry, ride across San Francisco Bay and see views of the city skyline and the Golden Gate Bridge en route to Alcatraz Island. Disembark and walk up to the prison site, then slip on provided audio headphones for a 45-minute audio tour of the cell house. You'll hear about former criminals like Al Capone and listen to narration by former inmates and prison guards.

Ferries depart Alcatraz every 30 to 40 minutes; after ferrying back to mainland, make your way back to Fisherman's Wharf in time for your beer walking tour in the afternoon.

Beer walking tour (afternoon)
This 3.5-hour guided tour is a premier way for beer lovers to enjoy some of the city's top attractions and tasty beverages in two of San Francisco's most scenic neighborhoods: Fisherman's Wharf and North Beach. With a small group of no more than 12 participants, you're accompanied by a craft beer enthusiast to three local bars. Hear historical accounts and fascinating stories while you stroll and take advantage of photo ops.

Of course, your tour is as much about beer as it is about the city, so you will take frequent breaks from sightseeing to sample some of the best craft beer the Bay Area has to offer (beer and snacks included). Gain insight into the San Francisco beer scene, brewing techniques, beer styles, and more. Finish with recommendations by your guide about brewpubs and more places to eat and drink after the tour.

  • Very fantastic had a great day

  • Very educational morning and enjoyable afternoon getting to know some of the history around Fisherman's Wharf and meeting some other travelers and fellow ' beer drinkers.' Adam was a very friendly host/guide.

  • Definitely worth it if you are into craft beer and want to learn more about SF. Great way to get Alcatraz tickets if they're sold out too. Was very informative, sampled a good range of beers full size!, and went to unexpected places.

  • We really enjoyed this combo, did Alcatraz in the morning which we found very interesting, the audio tour is great and then had the beer tour with Emily at 2pm which was so much fun! She took us to 3 San Fran breweries, Emily was very knowledgeable and the beer was delicious.

  • Adam Marca with SF on Tap Tours was a fabulous beer tour guide!! He made it the experience and we enjoyed some great beers!

  • To be honest we choose this tour because we couldn't get Alcatraz tickets, and we're super glad we did. Alcatraz was incredible and truly worth seeing the audio tour is so well done and interesting. Adam was a great tour guide took us to some great places in San Francisco and we enjoyed great beer.

  • This is a great combination of tours. Alcatraz was interesting and should not be missed. The Walking Craft Beer Tour, hosted by Adam Marca, was wonderful, offering craft beer lovers a chance to sample many different beers alongside of like minded individuals from all over the world. Adam was a wealth of information about craft beers and the San Francisco area, and really made you feel like a friend more than a client, by being personable, and making sure that everyone on the tour had a good time. I would highly recommend that any craft beer lover that is visiting the San Francisco area make this a part of their trip.

  • Worth the trip across to the Island of Alcatraz.
Beer tour was great way to see the city and drink some great beers!!

  • Really good day Adam our guide kept us entertained while walking between the pubs and met guests from other parts of our world who mixed in realy well

  • I am so glad we chose this excursion. We found the audio tour of Alcatraz fascinating. We were back on the Pier in time for a quick lunch before joining the beer tour. Sourdough bread bowl with clam chowder was delicious. After our first beer tasting we walked about 45 minutes to the next establishment. Adam gave us a little bit of history and tour of the area along the way. We stopped for two more tastings with a short walk in between. Beer was great and so were the snacks provided. Very fun day!
