  • A good tour but our coach was stopped by the Police for 45 minutes in part because of a cracked windshield. The violations were not explained.

  • This tour went wrong from the start. The staff in the tour booth at Pombal square were unhelpful and apart from being told to wait over there behind the buses could offer no assistance. Behind the buses was a group of confused tourists who were trying to get information about which bus to board from every bus driver who arrived. These were equally unable and unwilling to help.
Finally our bus arrived late. We boarded and had to wait another 30 minutes for a couple who arrived late. Not always a good policy.
The guide was admirably multilingual but spoke in a monotone and it was difficult to ascertain which language she was speaking at any given time.
We stopped for coffee at an uninspiring motorway service station very near a picturesque village. We wondered why the village could not have been chosen as the refreshment stop.
The visit to Evora was very pleasant and the guide was informative on the history and architecture of the town.
Our chosen winery was in Monserraz. Having travelled that distance, I was disappointed that a tour of this town had not been included. I appreciate that this was not on the itenerary but having travelled that far, it would have been nice to see it.
Overall, we were disappointed with the tour.

  • An unforgettable day to Evora and the wine district . Diana the tour guide was friendly and very knowledgeable, easy to understand. The lunch included was excellent as well, typical Portuguese meal.

  • Evora is truly worth seeing with the churches, chapels and cathedral, Roman Temple is small but worth seeing. Lunch was great but wine tasting was a little disappointing, it seemed like the winery wasn't prepared for the visit. One red wine was served only, they were more interested in selling wine. But if you can't taste it to see what you want to buy you are not going to sell a lot of wine.

  • We expected a lot from this tour considering the reputation of Evora, and so were a little bit disappointed by the limited number of interesting sites visited. A good lunch was served in the pleasant garden of a restaurant. We did not really learn much from visiting the wine cellar of a local producer. The tour concluded with a short wine tasting session.

  • Too many people on this tour, not friendly, the rest stop was appalling
the guide was not really interested in her English speaking guests and
the sites were boring. I got more out of my book then paying for the tour.
Plus the lunch - dreadful - and not enough food.

  • My partner and I went on this tour with a lot of excitement. Our tour group was a mix of Portuguese and English speaking travelers. The English speaking group received significantly less explanation of the sites, especially at the winery (at one point, the guide gave nearly 20 minutes of storage and processing explanation to the Portuguese travelers and less than one minute in English). When I mentioned to the guide that we were interested in more information, they were snarky with me and said that there would be more to come. There never was more details given. On the ride home, the English speaking group all shared our frustration, but there seemed to be little concern from the guide.

With exception of the winery, most of the sites seemed surprise at a group of 23 people showing up at once. Our guide had to discuss, sometimes argue, with the ticketing agents to let us all in at once. It often meant all of us would stand around in crowded doorways to wait for entry to be allowed. The tour seemed very poorly planned and I am not sure they even notified the sites of our tour.

Finally, I mentioned in the booking that I am vegetarian and that if it could not be accommodated for the during the meal, to let us know so I could plan ahead. We were never contacted and the meal had meat in every dish, with the exception of a green salad. When I was trying to leave the restaurant to go find a snack, the tour guide physically grabbed me and tried to make me stay. I explained that there wasn't anything that I could eat, but she kept telling me to eat a salad. Even one of the Portuguese travelers tried to step in and stop me from leaving (I was going across the way to a convenience store) and told me to eat the potatoes with pork (he was trying to help by telling me to eat around the pork). It was embarrassing to be called out in front of the group and frustrating that the guide tried to prevent me from getting food that I could eat.

I would not recommend this tour.

  • This is a typical 'big bus' tour. Inexperienced guide, uninterested in the events of the day. The bus A/C broke. Temp rose to 36 C inside the bus for hours. She did nothing nor apologized. Wine part is very weak. If you really know wine, this is a one stop, cheap slip and your gone. Skip this for a smaller tour or don't even go.

  • Day started badly with a mix-up at the transfer point. Enjoyed this trip a lot as it was a small but very diverse group of people and the tour guide couldn't have tried harder to make it work.

  • A nice day out. Very interesting. Good guide
