Know More about this tour

In remembrance of September 11, 2001, this walking tour takes you through the former World Trade Center in New York City, where the events of 9/11 took place. You'll be guided by New Yorkers who have connections to that day, listening to their personal stories and touching accounts of the heroism of many others.

Ground Zero
Your tour starts at St. Paul's Chapel, the oldest public building in NYC still in continuous use, which miraculously survived the falling debris from the 9/11 attacks despite being one block away. It became a makeshift rescue center during the aftermath, and its iron fence became a bulletin board where family members posted notices of missing loved ones. Today, with the mementos received from people around the world supporting New York, the church serves as a tribute. As you continue to the Firefighter's 9/11 Memorial Wall, hear the heroic stories of the emergency responders, and see the Engine and Ladder Company 10/10, the fire station at Ground Zero.

9/11 Memorial
Enter the 9/11 Memorial, where you can pay your respects to those who lost their lives in the World Trade Center. See the Reflecting Absence Memorial, the man-made waterfall inside the memorial, symbolizing the vast void left by the tragedy. Read the names of the nearly 3,000 victims placed around the waterfall next to their friends, family members, and colleagues, and see the new World Trade Center rise from the ground. At the conclusion of your tour, your guide provides you with a timed entry ticket to minimize your wait time at the museum, which you'll enter first, followed by the observatory.

9/11 Museum
Your museum entry time is about 12pm for the 10:30am tour or 3:30pm for the 2pm tour (select your preferred tour time when booking), but this can vary depending on availability. Your guide gives you a preview of the museum and what to expect so you can optimize your time spent inside and not miss seeing things important to you. Your visit is self-guided, so you'll explore at your own pace to see artifacts from the attacks and hear recordings from people who were there that day.

One World Observatory
After leaving the museum, head to One World Trade Center, named Freedom Tower, to visit the One World Observatory. This panoramic observation deck is a marvel of engineering and architecture. The program begins in the lobby with 'Voices,' a film dedicated to the men and women of the towers. Then take the Sky Pod elevator, which rises 1,250 feet in less than 60 seconds.

Immersive LED displays, interactive touch-screen video, and dining options give you plenty to experience, but the true draw is the view as you stand hundreds of feet above the New York City skyline stretching across all of Manhattan.

Your observatory entry time is after your museum visit: typically 2pm for the 10:30am tour or 5:30pm for the 2pm tour.

  • This was a tour that I was most looking forward to on my trip and it didn't disappoint. Ray our guide was brilliant, he was clear and very passionate about his city and the events of 9/11. He gave us a different view on things that day which was very interesting and informative. Well done Ray.

  • The tour was absolutely Awesome and very moving!!! Definitely worth the money!!!!
I just hope you get a better guide than we had. My 87-year old aunt was with us and she doesnt walk as fast as the group, so we were always left behind because our guide walked so fast leading the group or we got caught at a signal and he just kept walking. BI have been in groups where the guide always made sure everyone got across the street and always made sure the group was together. Sometimes we lost sight of him altogether and wasted time walking around to find him. He began his lecture as soon as he stopped and before we reached the group so we missed a lot of them facts and history he was sharing. The guide:. The tour:

  • Took my breath away so emotional

  • This was an absolutely a fantastic tour. It started with Robert our Ground Zero Tour guide. I find it hard to really describe how personal and informative Robert's tour presentation was. Being from the area and having family involved allowed him to share not only how people of New York felt, but also the anxiety he and his family experienced. Robert is an excellent tour guide. Then we moved on to the Memorial and Museum. Spent 2 hours here but could have spent the entire day. Next was on to the One World Observatory. Beautiful and awe inspiring view. Spent time to have leisurely lunch and take in the view as the day was ending. I would highly recommend this tour when visiting New York City.

  • The tour was excellent. The only problem was Freedom Tower. Very disorganized. We were lead to believe that we had expedited entry no line Special lane and that was not the case without extreme negotiations.

  • Our guide was great - very personable and shared personal experiences and thoughts. Would highly recommend this tour. The Freedom Tower observatory was incredible!!

  • Outstanding tour with an exceptional guide, Abby Goldfarb. She and her family had lived through the event, so her account, experience and knowledge was authentic and moving. Breathtaking edifices, stunning sights and very moving history....we enjoyed this experience so much. A 90 minute tour with Abby covering the amazing reflecting pools, the Oculus, the Fire Station and whole precinct was followed by a visit to the Museum where we were left to explore alone and 2 hours was not nearly long enough... then finally a timed entry to the Observation Deck atop The Freedom Tower to see gorgeous NY below in all its glory. Highly recommended tour and beyond fabulous guide, Abby.

  • Guide Alison was brilliant, full of interesting facts to share. Whole experience is quite overwhelming but definitely a must do in New York

  • During our trip to NYC we booked this experience to make the most of our short stay in the city. We were not disappointed as the experience was amazing! Starting with meeting the tour guide as indicated on the booking the whole afternoon was packed with awesome views and details of the buildings around the 9/11 site. Our tour guide was called Ray, and he added some great details around the events around 9/11 with some great personal accounts. He was great with providing additional information and had loads of useful tips about what to see when in the Memorial museum. In retrospect we'd have booked the museum as a separate visit as there is so much to see and a couple of hours isn't enough. However to end the experience at the One World Observatory was awesome and the views of the city at night were the highlight of our visit....great tour to take for any visitor to NYC.
