Know More about this tour

Your guide will pick you up at your centrally-located Lisbon hotel and transport you westward via air-conditioned vehicle. Drive along Marginal Avenue, a winding waterfront road with sweeping views of the Tagus River and Atlantic Ocean. Leave the April 25 Bridge behind as you follow the railway line, passing white sandy beaches, fishing vessels, ancient fortresses, and old mansions.

Pass the picturesque Portuguese Riviera, a strip running through Oeiras, Estoril, and Cascais. Snap photos of the Casino Estoril, Europes largest casino, believed to be Ian Flemings inspiration for the James Bond novel Casino Royale. As you pull into Cascais, take your time strolling around the chic holiday destination, once a fishing village, then a refuge for royal families during World War II. Explore narrow alleys and glimpse traditional Portuguese white houses, or relax by the beach.

Continue to postcard-perfect Cabo da Roca, continental Europes westernmost point. Pass Guincho, one of the regions most famous beaches, popular amongst surfers and watersports enthusiasts for its strong winds and inimitable waves.

Enjoy some free time admiring the landscape, then continue to UNESCO World Heritage-listed Sintra. Explore its historic center, then head to the romantic Quinta da Regaleira. Wander through its four hectares containing a palace, lush gardens, lakes, grottoes and mysterious constructions that evoke Freemasons and the Templars.

Head to the top of Serra de Sintra, 500 meters above sea level, to visit the Palace of Pena. Admire the fairytale example of architectural Romanticism that blends several styles, including Gothic, neo-Manuelin, neo-Islamic, and neo-Renaissance. Enjoy a delicious traditional pastry, a travesseiro or a queijada, before settling in for your ride back to Lisbon.

  • There were only two of us with the guide and the driver because it’s low season. So kinda like a private tour! The guide (sorry I forgot her name, should be Julianna or something like that) gave us very detailed explanations for the two monuments.

  • The tour guide was boring, rude, and basically read off of a script. I booked it because i like the information you get from a guided tour, but I would have been happier doing the tour on my own. Its basically a ride to the different palaces with a few other stops thrown in. I would suggest renting a car and driving yourself.

  • Well-timed visits to two monuments within Sintra with explanation

  • We had an amazing tour with our guide Vasco. We were picked up near the Hotel and drop off on a central square. Our tour started in the morning with the cost-road trip through Estoril and a Coffee-break in Cascais. Then we climbed by car the hill-road to Cape Roca and walked a little there. Fantastic views.
We started the visit of the garden in Quinta da Regaleira, and then the castle itself. After that we eat lunch in Sintra, you can choose the location or go with you guide to a small Restaurant near by your own costs, we did the later and had lunch and drinks for 12 Euro each. After Lunch we visited first Sintra city for half an hour and then the garden and castle of Pena Palace.
The entrance-fee is included, we had no waiting line and the journey was very comfortable. If you dont have much time, the perfect day of sigh-seeing outside of Lisbon.
You will have your own guide, so you dont need to worry about getting the fact right that was also most comfortable. You can ask everything and all the guides seemed very nice and funny. You will feel more like a friend than a costumer. We would do the tour even next time in Lisbon again because it is so well organized, we couldnt do it in this short time on our own.
Dropping off point is an central square in the city. For us easy to walk home. Dont forget enough water, it could be hot.
    Completely worth the money!

  • The tour guides were very informative and explained many interesting things about the places we visited and the surrounding area. They took us to a fabulous place for lunch, which was the best food we had on our entire trip!

  • The tour itinerary was very comprehensive and well arranged with stopovers at Cascais and Cabo da Roca in the morning on the way to Sintra. Highlights were the guided visits to Quinta da Regaleira and Pena Palace and we were happy that Lilliana and Stas were both helpful and informative making the experience more interesting with their insights. Thanks Cooltour Lisbon!

  • Overall this tour was excellent -- our guide was very knowledgeable and she spoke excellent English. That being said, we had a mixed tour with a lovely couple from Spain so the guide was required to switch back and forth between English and Spanish to accommodate the tour.

  • Amazing! A must for anyone going to Portugal/ Lisbon.

  • good tour , driver guide , hotel pickup .small group .
