Know More about this tour

Meet your guide in central Strasbourg for your morning or afternoon wine tour. After boarding your 8-passenger minivan, travel away from the hustle and bustle of Strasbourg, and along the beautiful Alsace Wine Route (Route des Vins d'Alsace), a 105-mile (170-km) stretch of road that meanders through the bright-green foothills of the Vosges mountains and past Alsaces prized vineyards.

Your first stop along the route is the pretty little town of Obernai. Hop out for a walking tour around Obernais winding streets, full of typical half-timbered houses decorated in multicolored tiles, before arriving at a local winery for a wine-tasting session.

Learn how the regions dry and sunny climate, complex geology, favorable soils and sun exposure produce Alsaces aromatic white wine. Note the range of fruity, light, dry and spicy flavors as you sample most or all of the seven different varietals that the region produces, including Riesling and gewrztraminer wine.

Continue along the Alsace Wine Route to your second stop, a typical Alsace caveau (wine cellar). Taste more local wine here, and learn how the caves cold temperatures and darkness allow for optimal storage and aging.

After your second wine tasting, relax on the scenic drive back to Strasbourg.

waited at wrong stop. Phoned Viator when no one came and was told to take a cab from Strasbourg to Obernai to catch up with tour

I was not impressed with this tour. It is far too much money for the quantity of wine and the experience. We stopped in a small town for approximately four minutes on the way to the first winery where we had extremely small sample pours and the "cellar experience" in the description meant standing in the back for 5 minutes. The second winery we sat in a very strange backroom that felt nothing like a winery. Both wineries are located right in town so I would not pay for this experience if I were you--I would take the bus and visit more wineries and build your own adventure for far less money.

The guide was wonderful - professional friendly, excellent English and knowledgeable. The added benefit - we went to two small wineries creating a very informal atmosphere to ask questions. One was with the wine maker himself. A lot of fun!!

Excellent wine tour and enjoyed our time at both small wineries! The mix of people was great and our host was very knowledgeable of the area.

This was a great tour! We wish we had did the full day. Danelle was the best! She was friendly, energetic, and informative! She was one of the best parts of the tour. We loved going to the small producers in the villages and even managed to go to a gingerbread bakery. Everything was beautiful and delicious! Highly recommended!

I am not big on writing reviews but this tour was outstanding. Ariana was a fantastic guide and really knew her stuff. The wine was so good there wasn’t a glass I didn’t want to finish. Excellent!

Danielle was a pleasant, friendly and well-known tour guide. The historical facts about the area were brief and specific. It was very interesting to visit wineries. Very cute little houses in the middle of vineyards. Very useful and worth a tour.
