Know More about this tour

Your full-day wine tour starts in the morning from the tourist office in central Strasbourg. Board your luxury minivan with your expert guide, and leave the busy city behind as you travel along the beautiful Alsace Wine Route (Route des Vins d'Alsace). The 105-mile (170-km) stretch of road snakes through the bright-green foothills of the Vosges mountains and features hundreds of Alsaces prized vineyards. Youll be treated to views of rolling vine-covered hills and quaint red-roofed villages around every turn.

Stop in the Mittelbergheim wine area, home to the Zotzenberg, Kastelberg and Wiebelsberg grands crus. The soils here are perfect for producing Riesling wine a varietal known as a German wine but produced extensively in Alsace. Head to your first winery to taste a selection of Alsatian wines including pinot blanc, sylvaner and Riesling.

Continue to Dambach-la-Ville, the largest wine-producing village in Alsace, whose vineyards produce one of the finest Alsatian wines: frankstein grand cru. Enjoy a second tasting session at a traditional caveau (wine cellar) and hear how the areas soil creates crisp Riesling and gewrztraminer wine.

After some free time for lunch (own expense), depart for the Ribeauvill-Riquewihr wine area, surrounded by five grand cru appellations: Geisberg, Kirchberg, Osterberg, Schoenenbourg and Sporen. Riesling grapes reign supreme here, but pinot gris, Muscat and gewrztraminer varietals are also excellent.

Visit the picturesque medieval villages of Ribeauvill and Riquewihr for your last wine-tasting session at some of the most highly praised wineries in the region. Learn about famous local wine growers including the Trimbach family and Hugel family, who have been producing wine here for centuries!

After a full day wine tasting your way through the Alsace region, relax on the scenic drive back to Strasbourg.

2 of our winery visits were with the winemakers themselves, allowing for in depth conversations about the wine making process. I learned a lot! And the wines were great also.

Good morning, I am sorry to say that our experience yesterday was very much a let down. We have done a lot of wine tours in France and found this one to be one we will remember for all the wrong reasons. The information on your site tells us that we would spend the day travelling down the route des vins in Alsace taking in all the lovely villages as we make our way to 3 wineries. I can tell you that we spent more time on the autoroute than anywhere else during the day. I think in total we spent 15 min on the route des vins. My wife sat in the front and every time we headed back to the autoroute asked about the route des vins. We arrived back in Strasbourg 1 hour early, telling me we had loads of time to travel back looking at the beautiful scenery that I am told the area has. Not looking at the back and sides of trucks. Our driver at the end said , I am sorry for not being a good guide today , as I was very tired after a long season and had to concentrate on my driving. At this point he stopped the van and said that is it. We where not back at the place of departure and it took us a little while to figure out our location. Earl

Jérémy was our guide on this small group tour via van. He has a great sense of humor and kept us entertained. We stopped at 3 wineries, all fairly small ones where 2 were family-owned. We tasted several wines at each winery which gave us a good overview of Alsatian wines. We stopped in picturesque Riquewihr for some time on our own, including lunch, and wrapped up with the 3rd winery there. Jérémy Is very knowledgeable of the area and of the wines and local viticulture. It was a great experience.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the day with our guide Pauline, who was friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and a lot of fun. The time spent at the 3 wineries was excellent where we learned about terroir and the grape varieties in the region. Highly recommend this tour.

Our tour started on time and we had a very nice guide. The selected wineries were very good and the owners were really experts on their area. We went to 3 wineries were we were able to taste different styles. The only tip I could give is to give a more time for lunch. For the rest if you know wine and want to know the region I could recommend the trip.

Our guide was so great - she was so nice and knowledgable (not just of wine, but the region, history, agriculture, etc) and made the experience so terrific.

Pauline was an excellent guide. She was very knowledgeable and ensured all members of the trip had a great time.

With a sympatic guide, helpful and ready to answer any question, we spent the day with 3 different vinemakers, learned about different approaches to vine making and enjoyed the view over unending vineyards and colorful little villages.

Visited 3 wonderful wineries and had the chance to speak with the owners and drink the wines they make. It was a very personal up close experience

Absolutely fantastic small group tour of Alsatian wineries. We were a very small group of 3 people. We visited a total of 3 wineries and had tastings of about 30 different wines over the course of the day. We learned a lot about the wines of the region. It was wonderful to be able to speak to the wine producers about their vineyards and wine. The scenery was beautiful too. Robin was a perfect guide and we had an enjoyable and pleasant time. Highly recommend
