Know More about this tour

Make your way to the train station in Rome to board your high-speed train to Salerno. Sit back and relax as you enjoy your scenic ride out of the city, arriving in Salerno approximately two hours later.

After meeting your professional driver upon arrival, settle inside your comfortable, air-conditioned minivan and head out onto the winding Amalfi Coast Road. With more than 40 miles of sweepings views of the glistening Mediterranean Sea to one side of your minivan and charming pastel villas and lemon groves to the other, marvel at the stunning vistas and listen to the onboard commentary as you travel.

Your first stop of the trip is Positano. Draw a breath of disbelief as you approach the small fishing village that is often referred to as the Jewel of the Amalfi Coast. One of the most quintessential towns on the coast, Positano is built up against the mountainside and spills down toward the sea to the rocky shore below. Enjoy your time here at your leisure, perhaps wandering along its narrow pathways that are lined with charming shops, or head to one of the villages beaches and cool off with a refreshing dip in the turquoise Mediterranean Sea.

After exploring Positano, return to your minivan and continue to Amalfi, the town that the coastline owes its name to. Enjoy the postcard-perfect views and spend a few minutes taking photos before heading off to discover the town at your leisure. Admire the traditional Mediterranean architecture as you stroll along the streets, and perhaps visit the magnificent 9th-century Amalfi Cathedral that is situated in the main square (own expense).

After your time in Amalfi, return to your minivan at the prearranged time before your train journey back to Rome. Your tour concludes in central Rome in the evening.

  • Beautiful must do while in Italy.

  • The bus did not have proper air conditioning. The travel guide smelled awful and she could not be patient enough to wait until my daughters went to the bathroom when we got to Positano to take us to the beach. Not a good trip at all.

These tour guides need to clean themselves better, especially in hot weather. Deodorant is not too expensive and it is a must. Every time she raised her arm we almost fainted since the hot air carried the smell all over the bus.

Overall, all of our excursions in Italy were awful. Will never use Viator again and we travel every year!!!

  • It was an amazing day! Fabio was such a wonderful tour guide! He did a wonderful job pointing out all of the highlights and providing us with a great amount of history as well. Highly Recommend!!!

  • A must see. Really incredible. Long but fun day.

  • Highly recommend this terrific, well-paced tour. Great day from start to finish! Our guide Antonella was fantastic. She was informative, organised and always on the lookout for the best vantage point for great photos. And our bus driver was amazing! Also, having been on a different tour with another company that used a bus the whole way to Naples, taking the train from Rome to Naples then a bus was a much better way to go.

  • Excellent tour.

  • One word.....Amazing!
Thank you to Fabio, Veronica and Antonio Driver

  • Amalfi Coast and Positano were beautiful, worth going back - the weather was perfect on this September day!
The six of us signed up for Small-Group experience with minivan max 10 people as indicated on trip itinerary. It ended up we had 22 people and bus. When I inquired about it the guide told me 22 is good, sometimes the tour has 36 people. Even though we enjoyed the places that we visited, it was not as advertised.

  • Amazing tour. The bus/train rides are long, but I am glad I got to see both cities. Our tour guide was wonderful.

  • Anytime you get to see Positano and Amalfi it isn't all bad. The travel time is long...train then small van and not a lot of free time in either town. That said, the views alone make this trip worthwhile. We did have a great lunch at a restaurant called Max's in Positano. Actually, great doesn't do it justice. It was outstanding. An my wife is a critical Italian cook. She raved about the place. If you go, try Max's for lunch or dinner. That alone would make the trip worthwhile.
