Truly experienced the local flavor of the shoreline villages, the working windmills and the people living in the area. The land and sea scapes of the countryside measured up to our highest expectations. Food was delicious including generous samples of cheese and cookies! Even though our tour was late in the season, the Keukenhof Gardens were magnificently in blossom adding to the breath-taking splendor of the day.
If you want to see the Holland's beautiful and historic countryside in a day, this tour is perfect! Do Keukenhof in the afternoon, not in the morning, it's self guided and is perfect for for slowing down after a morning filled with walking and tours. The working saw mill, windmill was fascinating! The presenters at each stop, were wonderful! In addition to windmills, wooden shoes and tulips; we went to see (and taste) cheese making and waffle making. The boat ride and lunch spot were great, as well! We were 2 couples traveling together. Excellent, full day tour!
Edgar and team were great. They provided good information and they kept us on track with time. The tour was a great intro to the Holland countryside.
Although this is a long day,it was so worth it. We left around 8 a.m. from Amsterdam Central Station and were back at the Station at 7 p.m.. The tour began at the Keukenhof Gardens and with plenty of time to explore it's massive grounds, shop a little and enjoy cappuccino and pastries. After that we were on to the Windmills. The miller gave an excellent demonstration of how the windmill works to produce his specific products. He was so authentic and it was an honor to speak with him. Then it was on to Volendam for yummy cheese and stroop wafel presentations and tastings and an opportunity to dine down by the waterfront. We then took the ferry to Marken to see how wooden shoes were made. Our tour leaders, Garan, his assistant Kos, and driver Niko, were just the best. They kept the day moving in delightful fashion and were always approachable.
Thoroughly enjoyed our (long) day. We had almost 3.5 hours free time to explore the magnificent tulip and bulb displays at Keukenhof Gardens (still didn't see everything). Enjoyed the visit to Zaanse Schans to see and learn about the windmills. Tour also had cheese tasting and look around a fishing village (with very late lunch), boat cruise and clog making. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. The included 1 hour canal cruise in Amsterdam, taken to suit ourselves, was worth it. Highly recommend this tour.
Wonderful tour - saw everything and more! Our guides were excellent, knowledgeable and fun. They recommended we save room to eat when we got to the small waterfront town and the fresh fish there was AMAZING!! We thoroughly enjoyed this entire day!
This tour was great. We were lucky to get to see the Keukenhof gardens the week before they closed, and the other stops were all very interesting. Great value for the price.
We bought our tickets off in which the tours were actually operated by local tour company Lindberg. If you bought the 3 combination like me, expect a full busy day. You were first meet the tour guide at the Lindberg tours and tickets in centraal station. The first half of the day you will see the fishing village Volendam and the windmills along with a boat ride, cheese factory tasting and clog making. Tour runs from approximately 845am to 2-230pm, Afterwards the bus will take you back to the meeting point and then you will go on a second tour to the keunkenhof tulip gardens (3 hours of free time to walk around!) Overall this day tour was well paced and doesn't feel too rushed, well worth for the value. There is also a lovers canal cruise included in the package in which you can take anytime during your stay in amsterdam. You can go pick up the tickets ahead of time and do it before you do the actual tour.
I think the tour covers the main tourist sites around Amsterdam. The bus is comfortable and on time. We had good time in all places thanks to the good weather. Zaanse Schans windmill, Clog factory in Marken, Volendam fishing village, Keukenhof Gardens and Amsterdam canal cruise are all excellent. All people in our group are satisfied.
A well managed and narrated package to look around countryside attraction in Netherlands. You always have an option to choose your preferred language from the audio narration.
One suggestion - kindly add a pack of food for all travellers in this package as people find it difficult to roam around all places and time for lunch is skipped.
