We were supposed to be picked up at our hotel in Flagstaff at 8:15. Just as we were leaving the guide called to say he was stuck in traffic and would be late. Coming from the NYC area, I know traffic and was not too upset. He showed up 1/2 later, told us he would make it up to usit was supposed to be a 12 hour tour and we were on our way. The guide was very informative and entertaining. There was 12 people in the 14 person van and it was tight fitting. The A/ C was struggling to keep us from melting in the heat. Lunch was good at the reservation and we had time to shop. All in all we had a great time and experience. Sights were wonderful! We were returned to our hotel before 7:00. Not a full 12 hours, but still worth it!

Our summer vacation was a road tour through mostly the Navajo nation, and for health reasons we only had one day free to see the Grand Canyon. Wow! This tour was packed with fun value, and we loved our tour guide Tim Munson. Being on the small bus with Tim driving and guiding was like plugging your brain into an encyclopedia while being immersed and awe inspiring beauty. He was just really, really fun.
We saw a lot more than we would ever been able to if we had tried to do this out of our own car, and leaving the driving to someone else was a good idea. That's not always true, and we are the type who usually self guide and like to drive and hike a lot. But my mobility is limited from cancer, and I mention t his because this kind of small group tour is great for people who's hearts want to adventure but your body might not be there at the same level.
The Grand Canyon portion was... well there just aren't enough superlatives. It blew my wife completely way. We've seen most of the largest national parks, traveled the world, but for her this place was on a whole new level. She would look at the canyon, look at me, smile, weep a little, grin, weep a little and then just couldn't talk. I'm often a bit jaded as a traveler, but it is true - this is an amazing place you must see - and if you only have a day this tour is a great way to do it.
Along the way we visited a beautiful volcanic state park, saw some of the oldest anasazi ruins at a small national park we would have completely missed, and had lunch at the Zuni Nation stop at Cameron Trading Post. Beyond learning a semester of undergraduate material in one day from Tim, we also want to acknowledge that he did a first rate job of keeping everyone safe. Safe at the rim, safe at road crossings when most were distracted, and safe from the heat including an abundance of cold bottled water.
He's one of several guides for this tour, and was complementary of his colleagues saying their feedback on the tour continues to be solidly good all around.

This was a great experience for both my daughter and me. Cindy, our guide was very knowledgeable. She passed on the history of the area and answers many of our questions as we went along. Our first stop was Wupatki, we checked out the Lava flows and Pueblos. Next up to Camerons trading post and the Little Colorado River. Then on to the Grand Canyons South rim, have to see to believe. I would recommend this to anyone how wants to enjoy the sites and not have to worry about driving and all the things that comes with it.
