Know More about this tour

Your day trip starts as you depart Galway from outside the Kinlay Hostel with your driver-guide, who takes you on a wonderful journey along the Wild Atlantic Way, passing through the villages of Clarenbridge, Kilcolgan, Ballindereen, Kinvara, and Ballyvaughan.

From Ballyvaughan, head south along the Clare coastline via the karst landscape of the Burren, passing by Blackhead and Fanore on your way to the fishing village of Doolin, where your ferry awaits to take you to Inisheer, the smallest of the Aran Islands. Once on the island, you have free time to explore and have lunch (own expense) before boarding the return ferry to Doolin.

The return ferry cruises beneath the Cliffs of Moher, providing an impressive view of the sheer height of the cliffs. When you reach Doolin, re-board your bus and head to the top of the Cliffs of Moher to enjoy the sea views from the summit. Then make your way back to Galway, passing again through the Burren and by Lisdoonvarna, home to an annual matchmaking festival. Your day trip ends with arrival in Galway.

  • The water was too choppy to go to the Aran Islands so they substituted the cave tour. We were really disappointed but would have preferred to just do a half day to the cliffs of moher instead of wasting our vacation time going to the caves. The Caves are not anything special and pretty boring.

  • Aran island itself was just ok. we went to the small island. What was amazing was the views on the way back, under the Cliffs.
We had a dolphin swimming along side our boat and the sights were out of this world

  • This was an amazing tour! I highly recommend. But not for someone who gets sea

  • Excellent place to visit on a sunny day, best tour guide. good value for money

  • Stranded in Doolin......what started out as a wonderful tour ended up shocking us....the Aran Islands were amazing, the view of the bottom of the Cliffs of Moher were spectacular. Then we had lunch in Fitzpatrick's Bar in Doolin. We finished lunch at 3.40 and had to be back at the bus at 4.00 to go see the top of Cliffs Of Moher. 4 of us went down the road towards Doolin to view some of the attractions highly recommended by the tour was amazing. Unfortunately we miscalculated the time it took to get back to the bus and arrived 8 mins late..only to see the bus taking off without us.... Yes we were late.....but what happened after that surprised us and left us feeling abandoned and very disappointed. We went into the tourist office and spoke to Liam/John to ask if we could hire a cab to enable us to catch up with the tour, he told us no cabs were available...they were all on holidays in Benidorm..meanwhile a cab pulls into the tourist office. We then asked in Fitzpatrick's Bar if anyone was willing to make some money and would be willing to drive us to the Cliffs...which was just 12 mins drive from there...the Barman replied is the end of the season and they have made their money and are not interested in doing that meanwhile Liam/John was in contact with Phil on the bus and he said we were to stay where we were and he would pick us up at 5.30....ironic that Phil said to call him anytime and he would help us any way he could..We felt Phil was punishing us for being late, and did not offer any solutions to correct our mistake, also we felt he could have announced that if you were not back at the bus at 4.00 he was going to leave without you . We felt no one was willing to assist us....I have been on tours all over the world and never have I seen a driver take off without his full load of passengers! So surprised this happened in a little one road town like Doolin , Ireland..Doolin Failte Ireland Fitzpatrick's Bar

  • Aran Island was great, as was the walk around the top of the cliffs. Cruise, not so much. It was the ocean, after all, but half of the busload of people were terribly seasick. Honestly, the view from below the cliffs was nothing special and not worth the effort. The bus driver Phil was terrific the whole time.

  • Phil was great! Highly recommend this tour. Wish there were a bit more shops to visit on the island maybe, but spend your time biking around, grabbing a pint and a bite at one of the little restaurants, visiting the shipwreck, etc. WARNING - if you get motion sickness, take a remedy or reconsider: we had someone barf on the bus due to the winding and bumpy roads and I imagine the boat ride that followed then more bus bouncing wasn't a thrill for her. Also, pay attention to the time available at each location so you don't get left behind or take time out of other travelers day :-

  • A wonderful tour. Highly recommend

  • Very well organized. Aran Islands a must, plus seeing the cliffs from the water is a definite plus

  • Five of us took this tour out of Galway after being picked up at our hotels. We had a terrific day and all went as planned. This day tour takes you too some of the most spectacular and unique places in Ireland. A don't miss experience.
