Overview

A "must do" tour in Arenal for sure. Beautiful and impressive Arenal Volcano will amuse you from the beginning of the trip. Our attentive personnel will wait for you at the hotel lobby to lead you to one of our comfortable vans with air conditioning. During the transfer to the trail, which takes about 10 to 30 minutes depending of the hotel location, our guide will talk briefly about the tour itinerary and explain you with detail some really interesting data, about the volcano and the area in general as well.

When arriving to place for the hike in the trail, we will prepare ourselves: repellent, sun block lotion, a bottle of water (included) and a quick visit to the restrooms of the place, are some recommendations for you to enjoy with comfort the tour.

We used Adventuras Arenal for all of our tours in Arenal. We had a great experience with them. This was the first one we did with them. They picked us up on time and when we arrived, they gave us each a cold bottle of water for the hike. The guide was excellent, friendly and really knowledgable. He gave us the history, pointed animals and interesting plants, including the coffee plants. The hike was about 2.5 miles, which our 6 & 8 year old did with no complaints. There are some slightly steep parts, but my 6 year old was able to keep up. He did also offer the group a shorter walk back, but we all declined as we were all okay with the slightly longer walk. Sneakers are needed for this hike, as some of it was slightly muddy or rocky. We were also glad we had hats. At the conclusion of the hike, we were dropped off at Hot Springs Resort, which was really fun. The only thing is because we took the slightly longer walk back, we got slightly less time here, but that was okay and the guide had told us that. Hot Springs has a lovely changing area and lockers and many hot springs, we well as a huge pool with a swim up bar. We all had a great time and we then went to dinner at the casual restaurant (included in the tour, prepaid). The restaurant was casual, so our clothes from the hike were just fine. Overall, we would highly recommend this tour.

We did this trail with a guide called Felix, and he is incredible! He has such a passion for what he does, and he is so good at explaining and describing the magic of nature that was all around us, how it interacts and evolves! The trail is beautiful and the walk is really worth the time! Even though its not one of those tours where you watch lots of exotic animals, we went around the volcano enjoying a breath taking view and we had a chance to see the lake also. All of this always with the perfect guidance and teaching provided by Felix!
