Mooie actieve wandeltocht door het vulkaan gebied. Onze gids David was erg aardig en vertelde ons alles wat we wilde weten. Zeker de moeite waard!

El guía David y el conductor Don Trino, excelentes. Tuvimos la suerte de ver monos aulladores, serpientes, pájaros y disfrutar de unas vistas espectaculares.

We went on the Arenal volcano tour walk with Pedro. Pedro is a very friendly guide and let us feel comfortable to ask questions. You could tell Pedro has a lot of knowledge about the vegetation and animals in the different areas of the Arenal national park. We had a great time. Also the lunch (fresh fruits) was delicous.

David, Trino and Pedro did an awesome job from pick-up to drop-off. We arrived at the park and began our tour. It was a relatively easy path until the rocky trail started. The elevation gain and rock hopping will quickly get your blood pumping. The entire time, David and Pedro were showing me the different geology, fauna and wildlife that call this area home. They also told me about the 1968 eruption and how the rain forest recovered afterwards. The top of Arenal was hidden by clouds but it was an awesome view nonetheless. You also get a great view of Lake Arenal. The highlight of the excursion was when Pedro found a small eyelash viper resting on a tree, just off the path. We finished with a snack of fresh pineapple and bananas. The tour company provided a water bottle, binoculars and an umbrella (much easier than a rain jacket or poncho). Can't wait to visit again!

Jaime was an excellent tour guide. His keen eye sight and hearing was able to spot birds, and animals we wouldn't be able to find on our own. Very nice of him to provide binoculars as well for the both of us. After the hike we were provided a picnic full of fruit and water. 10/10!

Luis was a fantastic guide and answered all of our questions while stopping to point out things we would have never noticed! He's also a great photographer. We got very lucky and got a clear view of the volcano and the steam coming outof the top. Definitely a great walk for birds, bugs, and geology. Our driver had a beautiful snack table set up for us when we got back. Wonderful way to spend the morning!

Louis was an excellent, friendly, knowledgeable, professional guide who also took great photos of us. He matched his pace to ours. He knew the answers to 90% of our questions.

The knowledge and expertise of our guide, David is what makes this a 5 star rating. More than most, he knows his flora and fauna. With more than 4,000 vascular plant species in Costa Rica along with hundreds of mammals, insect, amphibians, and bird species, I’m amazed at how much the guides know. We fortunately had a private tour which took about 2 hours to cover about 2 miles. We made lots of stops to learn about the geomorphology of the volcano as well as the plants, insects, mammals and bird species. Great job!
