Know More about this tour

While your cruise ship is docked at Ashdod Port, meet your guide at the port side, and travel to Jerusalem by air-conditioned minivan for your full-day tour. On route, admire the scenic Judean Mountains and listen to commentary about Jerusalem and Bethlehem, the two holy cities revered by Christians as the places where Jesus lived and died some 2,000 years ago.

Your first stop is at the Mount of Olives, a ridge just east of Jerusalem. Soak up views of Old Jerusalem from the summit and listen as your guide recounts some of the biblical tales linked to the area.

Pass the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus reputedly spent his last night of freedom, and head to Mount Zion, site of the Last Supper. Visit the room where the Last Supper is said to have taken place, and then continue into Old Jerusalem through Jaffa Gate.

Admire the timeworn narrow streets as your guide leads you through both the Christian and Jewish quarters. Visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, said to stand on the site of Jesus crucifixion, and walk part of the Via Dolorosa, an important pilgrimage route.

Take in the scenes at the Western Wall (aka the Wailing Wall) as you learn of its significance to the crowds of Jewish pilgrims, and then stroll through an Arab souk, whose stone streets brim with trinket and spice stalls.

Having explored Jerusalem, return to your minivan and head for nearby Bethlehem. On arrival, stretch your legs on an amble around Manger Square and visit the Church of the Nativity and the grotto, where a star marks the spot of Jesus supposed birthplace.

Lastly, enjoy free time to browse for souvenirs at Bethlehems Palestinian shops and markets, before your tour ends back at Ashdod port.

Please note: Visits to sites stated on the above itinerary are dependent on accessibility, religious festivals, queues and time constraints on the day of your tour. The order of sites visited, as described above, may also be subject to change on the day.

  • bring very comfortable shoes and be ready to walk.

  • The start was shaky. IDing the bus/group took to long and the initial bus used couldnt go faster than 20mph even on their highways. Passengers demanded bus pull off road and be replaced which was done but this whole process took close to 1-1/2 hours. Tour wasnt shorted, we just got back to the ship very late. Tour itself was very well done. Saw most of the key sites and the experience was very nice. The guide was very well informed. Would repeat.

  • We loved the excursion through Viator. We had a small group - 16, which in such a crowded place, was a total Blessing! We set eyes on Jerusalem for the 1st time, and we were overwhelmed with wonder at a place we had only imagined for so long. We had a lovely, energetic, knowledgeable guide in Abbey who made these places shine. We reminisce about our trip there almost everyday since returning home. We can't say enough nice things about a gracious, capable guide and a small group tour that Viator provides.

  • We were very pleased with our guide. He was our guide for three days.

  • Let me say first that we really had a great tour guide Micky, this is a long day but well worth the experience, if you book this tour make sure you try to get Micky. We had 16 on our tour where as people who booked boat cruise tours had 50, we went to more places maybe due to our smaller numbers. A greaat tour made even better with Micky

  • Abbey was our guide
She was extremely knowledgable about Israel
we were able to see Nazareth, Month Olives, the Whaling wall
    visit the churches
yet have time for shopping and lunch
just be prepared for a walking tour on cobbled stones
would not recommend this tour for anyone unable to walk long distance
    I will recommend Viator tours
The bus was small rather than the big buses with a good driver
This way we did not waste time with a huge no. of tourists
nobody got lost, a way to meet new friends
    price was reasonable

  • Sandy the tour guide provided a wonderful, educational experience. The transfer to Bethlehem was interesting but we never felt unsafe. One day is not enough to take everything the area has to offer but it was a good overview if your time is limited! They picked us up on time, the van was comfortable, and they answered our questions.

  • Our Jerusalem excursion was a rocky one. First , through no fault of their own, there were protests outside the cruise terminal so we could not leave the ship for over two hours. What was so troubling is that two people did not follow the instructions to meet outside the ship and left the terminal on their own and got lost. Now if I was the one that messed up I would want the tour company to find me. But we waited another hour and a half til the tour company finally located the lost couple. The other fourteen people lost all that time and we were already way behind. Very frustrating and caused us to be so rushed, even missing some places we hoped to see. To be fair, even if everything worked together properly this would have probably been a lot to do. No time for souvenirs except the place we had to go so overall not pleased.

  • If you were raised in the Christian faith, you've heard of these places since your infancy. A very interesting tour, that will take you through both Israel and the Palestinian Authority aka West Bank areas. You will hear plenty about the influence of the Arab and Christian minorities. The tour is fast-paced, and won't leave you much time to see the local culture. On the other hand, you will see the parts of Jerusalem where Jesus spent his last days and Bethlehem where he was born -- and if Mickey is your guide you will hear both the Biblical accounts and a rational Jewish account of the life and times of Jesus.

  • This is a fast paced tour. Seeing all the traditional sites in a very.crowded city. We had a great tour guide, Mickey, she kept us moving along.
I did hear some other folks did not have a good guide, with the same company. I am not sure how to make sure you get a good guide,
They make a difference in your day. Be prepared to walk quickly and keep up with the group, Our tour was very good. You wish you could slow down and enjoy everything more, but when you are on a short time frame visit, this is what you get, wear good shoes for uneven cobblestones,
