Ein kleines Kameramuseum das man gesehen haben muss. Der Eintrittpreis ist in Ordnung. Die Inhaberin May ist sehr nett und hat eine Führung durchgeführt über die Entstehungsgeschichte von Kameras.

Amazing museum. Was given a tour around but the lovely woman who works there. She was so informative and enthusiastic as well as giving general suggestions for things to do around Penang. She was truly the highlight of my visit!

This place has all the elements to become a good attraction for the city. The topic is fascinating and the collection is worth seeing. You will experience a darkroom, and having pictures taken with your camera of images taken from the collection’s cameras, nice trick. They have a camera obscura, cameras for cinematography, a portrait camera with studio set up, and you get to see large and medium format cameras as well as SLRs and digital ones. Donations of old cameras are accepted. The guide was charming and knowledgeable.

Tolles kleines Museum. Der Eintritt beträgt 20 RM. Der junge Mann an der Kasse läuft mit und erklärt sehr vieles aus vergangene Zeiten der Kameras. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Went to this museum looking to see some cool cameras and was blown away by the amount there is too see and learn. The woman who runs the museum (I didn’t get her name) gave us a guided tour and was extremely knowledgeable about the whole history of photography from its inception to the present day. There were multiple of examples of many types of cameras as well as opportunities to look through the viewfinders of many types, something I’ve never seen before in a camera museum, and was definitely a highlight. Definitely a must see for anyone remotely interested in photography on their visit to Penang.

I really enjoyed this museum! May was a wonderful guide and was very knowledgeable about cameras, and the museum did a good job of showing off a wide range of cameras as well as some interesting tidbits such as an exploded (taken apart) model as well as a camera obscura and the power of a 1000x zoom lens. Would recommend to both photographers and non photographers!

Since my dad and I love photography, we are interested to go and see. But it's not only for people like us as my other family members did enjoy their time there too. We can experience and see the changes and how the cameras evolved from a long time ago to modern ones. Indeed another type of our attractions.

This is an unusual museum all about photography from beginning to modern times. The entrance fee includes a guide who will take you through the processes involved in professional photography. The guide will also show the old school way of touching up photos back in the days before photoshop and editing too that can be done easily on even your phones. An honourable mention also goes to the mock-up of a dark room where I got another great explanation of how this worked. I do not consider myself a photography enthusiast, but I found myself captivated by the passionate narrative and sheer enthusiasm of the guide. A fantastic visit and well worth the small entrance fee. I wish all museums had guides this interested in their exhibitions.

This is a really interesting little curio of a museum on Armenia st. It contains an amazing collection of cameras, lenses and everything photography related. Some of the exhibits really take you back to some of the old camera's my grandparents had, lots of speciality cameras, old flash guns, the old flash cubes etc etc. There are some interesting spy camera too. The lady who took us round was very enthusiastic and informative.

Amazing collection of cameras and photography paraphernalia spanning the last century! Highlights include the spy camera gear used by the Russians and original preservation of local photography history. Mac one of the founders of the museum has interesting historical anecdotes for each of the pieces in the museum so make sure you ask the guides for additional information. We spent an hour here wandering around the displays.
