Our guide was organized and informative plus friendly. Our driver was great. Trip could be Vastly improved if it skipped Cortana. People signing up for this trip are interested in going to Assisi. Assisi is a challenge walking…hills, stairs etc. No need to add another hill town. There was not enough time to experience Assisi. By eliminating Cortana, there would be more time in Assisi. At end of day our guide said taxis were an issue. We would need to walk to the train station to get one. It was dark and we had busy roads. Unpleasant end to a nice day. They should let you out near taxis.

A beautiful drive through the Tuscan and Umbrian countrysides. The towns of Cortona and Assisi are gorgeous travels through time. More glorious churches and tributes to God than we could have imagined.

Our guide, Roberto, wasn't very knowledgeable. He was more of a warm body to tell us when to get on and off the bus. He mentioned many times that he didn't know information to give us about Cortona and Assisi. After exiting St. Francis Church he told us we had some free time to explore then we would meet at the Virgin Tabernacle but we asked many shop keepers and taxi drivers and no one in the town knew where that was....we were very stressed...we had to pay 10 euro for the taxi driver to take us to the bus pickup station...but this wasn't were we got off the bus and we waited praying that our bus and group would show up...we didn't have the guides phone number to call to let him know where we were (only the phone number of office of the booking company-which the taxi driver called for us)...fortunately the taxi driver was correct and the buses did pick up at the location he dropped us off at we ended up seeing the bus first then the rest of our group walked up. We did meet another guide at the Church of St Claire in Assisi who was Italian-she didn't have a flag to find her - didn't allow any time for pictures -if you took one you would have a hard time finding her - she walked and talked instead of gathering the group to talk/ explain (meaning it was hard to hear her on the radio if you somehow got stuck behind someone walking slowly on the street because the radio went in and out). If guides don't want to use a flag maybe she should have worn a brightly colored shirt to stand out. Our best guides on the our vacation would point out a location where they would share more details instead of walking ahead of the group not knowing if everyone could hear them. Lastly, we booked a tour in English not a bilingual tour and the tour was bi-lingual so everything took TWICE AS LONG and we didn't have any quiet time on the bus since our guide was talking in two languages on the way to Assisi. The bus driver, Marco, was excellent and very helpful on this tour.

Bus was 40 min late picking us up in the morning. Tour guide did not give familiar check in spots after free time. Many lost and frustrated. The town people did not no where these spots were. Info the bus was moving to another lot not given. Tour booked was English but it was also given in Spanish. A lot of time wasted. Bus did NOT have AC very hot on the ride to Florence 2+hours.

Long but worthwhile tour of Cortona and Assisi. Competent guides. Lots of stairs. Take snacks. They stop at a lake for photos, which was a waste of time. They should eliminate this stop and give more time for lunch. Be prepared for people to arrive late at each meeting point. It happens on every tour. It just makes the day longer. Still glad we went on tour. Saw lots in a short amount of time and we left the driving to someone else!

I was surprised to find that I was one of only 4 English speaking participants of a total of 18. In Cortona, we were released to tour the town on our own, with about 1.5 hours for exploration. We had a nice meal upon arrival in Assisi, but it was a little rushed as we had to meet our local guide at the appointed time. Assisi was an amazing and inspiring stop with a very helpful local guide, Sandra. Our host for the bus ride and miscellaneous stops, Julian, was also very helpful.

The trip was cancelled the day before! 😟. Not able to rebook as we were leaving Florence the next day.

Loved the churches and guides. They were considerate and kind. Very peaceful experience and Andrea and Sandra were great guides

The guide was ok. The driver was terrible. Didn't know directions. Killed the engine 5-6 times. Couldn't drive a stick on a hill. Lost. Checking Google Maps. Can't believe it.

Great visit to Assisi, especially the stop at St. Mary of the Angels to see the ‘little church’ inside the Basilica.
