I had such a wonderful time on this walking tour! Rena was friendly and enthusiastic, and made me feel so welcomed! I was a solo traveler in a small group with two other people, and Rena introduced our small group to local shops and markets we probably would have never found on our own. We tried amazing foods/snacks from koulouri to loukoumades, pastourma, bougatsa, souvlaki, and more! I booked this tour on my first full day in Athens and found it to be a really helpful introduction to Greek cuisine. I highly recommend it!
Very good. Got to try lots of Greek sweets, snacks, drinks and food I wouldn't have otherwise. Loucia was friendly, informative and considerate. You visit several small shops that you wouldn't find otherwise, as well as the athens food market. Definitely worth it.
We had a great time walking around Athens and sampling many fabulous local foods. The walk is so easy that anyone would be able to complete the tour. Going with such a knowledgeable food guide made it even more amazing. Going to the local meat and seafood market was interesting probably not suited to vegetarians.
Martha has the perfect personality for the tour. She’s enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She was very helpful and handled all of our questions.
Georgia was very good at her job and seemed concerned every member of the group was having a good time. A little long for me but I was tired from the acropolous the day before. Great food and stories.
We walked through the General Market, vegetable and fruit market then roamed the surrounding neighborhood tasting the wares of street vendors, spice shops, olive oil and cheese shops, sweet and savory pies, dried meats and the best doughnuts ever! Finally we topped it off with a traditional lunch.
I know there are a lot of other food tours in Athens. What made this one special and "over the top" was our guide Georgia Kalimeri. She is not only very knowledgeable but presents each stop with passion and flare!
Georgia was one of the best tour guide I have ever had. She was so knowledgeable and we learned so much about Where the locals eat in Athens and more about their culture and traditions . Please come to the tour hungry! The food sampling was delicious and we left very full!!
This tour was a lot of fun. You go to some local spots and it gives you a great feeling for the city.
Loukia was extremely knowledgeable about all the foods and unique cuisines prepared in Ellada. We would recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning more (and tasting) the best of culinary offerings in Greece. Take this tour!!!
Georgia who lead our tour was a wonderfully knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, charming, and dare I say theatrical host. We had such a fabulous time that I would advice anyone coming to Athens to seek out this tour and specifically Georgia to lead it!!! The food experience was also great.
