Know More about this tour

Acropolis Walking Tour (3 hours):
Meet your guide in Syntagma square, and kick off your tour outside the Greek Parliament and the Tomb of the unknown soldier, where youll watch the statuesque Evzones (the presidential guard) perform the Changing of the Guard ceremony in their eye-catching uniforms.

Next, cross through the National gardens and catch sight of Zappeion Congress Hall. Pass by iconic sights like the Temple of olympian zeus (Olympieion) and Hadrians Arch on your way to Plaka, the citys Old Town. Have your camera ready as you wander the labyrinthine streets flanked with neoclassical architecture, Byzantine churches and bustling boutiques.

From Plaka, make the short stroll along the Dionyssiou Areopagitou walkway to The acropolis of Athens, a UNESCO World Heritagelisted citadel perched high above the city on a rocky outcrop. Pay the entrance fee (own expense) and then head inside with your guide for a glimpse into the world of Ancient Greece.

See highlights such as the Temple of athena nike, Propylaea gateway and the Parthenon, the Acropolis crowning jewel. Pause for photos and listen to your guides commentary about the historical significance behind each ruin. Your tour concludes at The acropolis summit, leaving you free to continue sightseeing at your leisure.

Cape Sounion and Temple of poseidon Half-Day Trip (4 hours):
Around 2:45pm, board your coach for the drive to Cape Sounion, the southernmost tip of the Attica Peninsula, passing the idyllic beaches of the Saronic Gulf along the way. When you arrive, walk over to see the astounding Temple of poseidon, a gleaming white beacon perched on a rocky hilltop overlooking the sea. The site was an important temple for the ancient Greeks, who once flocked here to worship Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea.

Admire incredible views across the Aegean Sea and look out for the island of Kea that you can often see on a clear day. Hear facts from your guide, such as how the temple was built in 44 BC, and see many of its original Doric columns still standing, including one that features graffiti left by English Romantic poet Lord Byron in the early 1800s.

After your tour, youll be driven back to your Athens Hotel or the closest point to your accommodation.

The changing of the guards, the theatre and Acropolis. Mainly the history!!!! Our guide was amazing and she knew so much.

  • 27-Jul-2022

2h walking around other places and only 15-30 min walking inside the Acropolis... a waste of money Oh! And it's not a usual half day trip: the walk around the city happens from 9.30h to 12.30h and the othwe visit is from 15.00h to 19.00

Excellent guide. Very very knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions and planned the trip very carefully considering it was a very hot day.

Our guide was excellent and provided a very interesting history. However, the walking tour was supposed to depart at 9:30 and didn’t leave until 9:50. By the time we got to the Acropolis it was hot and the crowds were HUGE, due in part to all the masses of lemmings ascending from several cruise ships. Especially in the summer months, this tour should leave no later than 0830 to avoid the worst of the crowds and heat- that would allow a much more enjoyable experience 😎

This walking tour was really good. Our guide was so knowledgeable on the history and we learned so much. Loved visiting the Parthenon, it is pretty amazing. The 2nd half of our tour was a bus tour to Cape Saunion and the Temple of Poisedon. The bus ride was along the coast and it was beautiful. Overall it was a very nice excursion and I am gad I did it with a tour group.

Great knowledgeable staff for the walking tour and the bus tour. They were extremely helpful in answering any questions regarding the ruins and where to visit. Enjoyed the drive out to Temple of Poseidon comfortable bus and great scenery on coastline.

He had wonderful guides For each tour that we took. There was only one young man who failed to collect us and put us on our bus, even though we were there and we told them what we were waiting for. He told us it was another bus. Ater 10 minutes we called trip masters and they suggested to jump into a cab so that we wouldn't miss our boat for our day cruise. But the tour guides were awsome and kept track of us very well once we were on the boat. The acropolis tour went without a hitch.
