Know More about this tour

Meet your driver at Koropi metro station just outside of Athens. Then, hop inside an air-conditioned transfer vehicle and relax on the short journey to Papagiannakos Winery, an award-winning winery located in the Mesogeia region of Attica.

On arrival, meet one of the winery guides and then head out into the vineyards to begin your tour. As you stroll amid the vines, learn how the area has a rich viticulture heritage, with the winery itself dating back almost a century. See the plump savatiano and malagouzia grapes, which are used to make some of regions most traditional wine varieties. Then, discover how the areas climate and location create ideal conditions for dry white wines with high alcohol, balanced acidity and a fresh, delicate floral nose.

Next, see where the wine is fermented and learn how the bioclimatic winery is designed to consume less energy than a conventional building. Youll also see the huge, wooden casks used to hold resting wine.

After your tour, head to a tasting room where youll sample five estate wines, paired with delicious regional specialties such as rusks or cheese. Savor the delicate bouquet of flavors in each wine, and pick up tips on how to identify the varying aromas and ingredients.

Took the metro towards the airport from Athens and were met at the station for our transfer to the winery. We had a short vineyard tour and then a wonderful wine tasting with a few nibbles. Location is rural and the facilities are green and so beautiful. So much fun!

The tour was extremely informative especially for wine novices like us. Our guide was very patient and gave us very detailed information about the history of wine in Athens, and history of the winery as well. During wine tasting, we were again furnished with plenty of information about the wines!

amazing... we were picked up and taken to the winery, which was not far from the pick up point, and we were the only people on the tour. We were shown the entire process from grapes being picked by hand to bottled and aged onsite. We were also treated to a trip around the vineyard and talked to the wine maker. One of the best tours we had - brilliant!!
