Know More about this tour

After morning pick-up at your centrally located Cairns CBD hotel, board your air-conditioned coach and head for the Atherton Tablelands, part of the World Heritage-listed Wet Tropics of Queensland. (We do not pick up from locations outside of Cairns or in the Northern Beaches area)
After about an hour, stop to check out the Cathedral Fig Tree, an enormous 500-year-old strangler fig with long aerial roots. Then continue your drive to Lake Eacham, formed by volcanic activity more than 12,000 years ago, in the middle of a pristine rain forest. You might spot turtles in the crystal clear waters, and you can hop in the lake while your guide prepares a hearty morning tea.
Next up, visit Mount Hypipamee National Park to see Dinner Falls, another swim spot, then follow your guide on an easy half-mile (800-meter) walk to a lookout point to see what's known as the Crater. Peer down into the rim, situated a vertigo-inducing 450 feet (138 meters) below you, to see a jewel-toned lake.
Getting hungry? enjoy a picnic, or wait for a pit stop in the town of Millaa Millaa where you can purchase an inexpensive lunch. Rested and refueled, you'll head out to nearby Millaa Millaa Falls for yet another chance to dip into a spectacular natural pool.
Josephine Falls is a highlight of the afternoon. A short walk brings you to the falls, where daring types can try out a natural waterslide that drops into a deep pool. Swim and soak in the beauty of this scenic spot, then snack on afternoon tea prepared by your guide.
At the end of a full day, your guide returns you to your original departure point in the evening.

  • Had a great day with Damo our guide the perfect host. Saw some amazing scenery and enjoyed swimming in 4 beautiful locations. Highly recommended.

  • We spent an amazing day touring the Tablelands. Our guide was a true Aussie who likes to have fun. It was a young crowd except for us, but we enjoyed talking to all of the young people as the day went on. Throughout the day we saw three fabulous waterfalls, a crater lake and several lookouts. A day well spent.

  • This was one of the best tours I've been on. Everything was amazing to see and our tour guide Roh was excellent. It is a tour I will be recommending to others.

  • Geared to a younger crowd- sites were nice though

  • This tour was so much fun from the minute I stepped on the coach, great views, fantastic waterfalls and chances to swim in them. Sliding down the natural rock slide at Josephine falls was my highlight!

  • Great day out. Great guide, really nice scenery and waterfalls. Highly recommend.

  • Very good value for money, really fun and the views of the waterfalls are fabulous. Definitely well worth the money

  • Great time, Matty the guide was a real laugh - bring your sense of humour.

  • It's a long day and there are many stops along the way. Make sure you take a motion-sickness pill otherwise the ride could get uncomfortable. Our tour guide was nice and kept feeding us with snacks all day long. I enjoyed the optional walk around Lake Eycham.
I liked the stops, however, I don't think the rock slide should be part of the tour. Two people in my group got injured because the rocks are so slippery.

  • We had so much fun on our Barefoot Tour to see the waterfalls. Our tour guide, Rohan, was hilarious and friendly and we had an awesome group of people that we toured with. We all got to know each other on our day-long tour, exploring the falls, swimming in stunning pools, and sliding down a natural rock slide! All-in-all, it was an amazingly fun experience and a great way to spend a day exploring and learning about the region just outside of Cairns. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a fun but relaxed day tour.
