  • We visited 4 volcano sites. Our guide was informative and the views were great, but it was a lot of walking and seeing the same type of thing at each site.

  • This tour gives you a very good understanding of the physical development and history of Auckland. We never really understood the significance of the volcanoes and how they developed and their importance in the historical development of the Maori and British settlement. Our guide was very personable and knowledgeable.

  • Guide was great and very informative. Hiking was great even though it was a little rough in spots for my short legs and overweight body but, completely worth it. This was a different and informative way of seeing Auckland.

  • despite the extremely windy day this was an interesting tour. learned that Auckland is built on Volcanos and it was interesting to see some of he areas

  • This tour was amazing!

  • It was a nice experience, different from usual city sightseeing. It was amazing to be able to walk into the volcano craters in the middle of a busy, big city.

  • I enjoyed this tour a lot, it was a great way of seeing the area around Auckland. Absolutely recommended!

  • I had a private tour since no one else signed up that day. I learned an incredible amount about volcanoes and saw incredible scenery. It was a good length for a tour and I highly recommend it, especially since it is so different from the other ones.

  • Mike is a friendly knowledgeable guide. The tour includes some hiking up, down and around numerous dormant volcanos. Mike makes a genuine effort to get to know his guests and his guests to know him. His van limits the size of the group to a very comfortable number. We would recommend this tour to others. A good way to see the Auckland area before or after a cruise.

  • Mike was amazing... informative, fun and passionate. The views were incredible. The uphill climbs were a bit challenging - but nothing this old and out of shape body couldn't handle. Mike made sure we got photos at every opportunity.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Auckland... WELL worth it!
