By chance, we found this tour and booked it for the next day. We are so grateful we found it!! Anette was a fantastic guide and shared so many details about Mérida culture. The meeting time was 3pm at the plaza merida sign. We arrived at 2:20 until 3:30 nobody showed. Very disappointed.

We had a lovely afternoon with guide Anette! We tried delicious local foods and learned a lot about the Mexican (Yucatecan) cuisine and culture! Anette gave great recommendations and was great company at the same time. So don’t be a ‘Tracy’ and book this tour when you’re in Merida!!

Our tour guide (David) was very good. He shared a lot of very interesting facts about traditional Mayan meals and seasoning. We made eight stops with a tasting of a different food item at each. The walk through the fruit and vegetable market was great too. Go hungry. We were stuffed by the end.

David was a fantastic guide! He took us on a local and authentic food experience to parts of Mérida we had not visited. We walked through two local markets with tons of fresh produce, shopping, and local street vendors. My wife and I really appreciated David’s love and knowledge for food, culture and his story-telling. If you are looking for a food tasting adventure, this is for you!

If you are expecting nice restaurants with linen napkins this is not the tour for you. But if you want an authentic experience that takes you into the middle of a vibrant marketplace full of food vendors and food you could not experience elsewhere then you’ve come to the right place. David led us through the aisles and stalls of the local marketplace and introduced us to the food and vendors of Merida. It was a fast paced and fun way to see into the corners of a part of town you probably wouldn’t experience. What a great way to take in the sights, sounds, smells, and food of authentic Merida.
