You will meet your guide at the front door of Museo Nacional de Arte (MUNAL) in the Historical Center. The day begins getting into the subway, where I will explain you in detail how the public transportation works in the city. We will move to one of the most traditional and important markets not only in Mexico City but in the country; we will explore the market aisles and observe the different products that are sold inside as seasonal fruits and vegetables, traditional candies and a variety of chiles; while we explore the market, feel free to buy anything you want. On the outside of this market, we will eat one of the most emblematic and favourite taco according to the people who work on the area.
Later we will take the subway again and move to the Zocalo square in the Historical Center. While we walk, we will be making stops at the best-qualified taquerias by the locals and you will learn more about the preparation of each of the dishes. Then, we will visit another market known for the exotic products, there we will taste a sample of insects that have been consumed in Mexico for thousand years.
A few blocks away, we will visit a traditional pulquera and drink a glass of pulque, an emblematic drink of Mexico that is still unknown in other countries. We will continue walking through the streets if the Historical Center making stops at the street food stalls. Finally, we will eat churros on the original place that brought the churros to Mexico. At the end of the experience, we will go back to the meeting point.
During the whole tour, we will make 11 stops, some are essential and unfortunately don't offer vegetarian options. The experience doesnt include drinks but the average cost of a drink is 20 pesos or 1 dollar.
