Know More about this tour

Your tour starts with hotel pickup from Madrid, and goes to Avila first.

Avila is one of the oldest cities in Spain, surrounded by very well preserved medieval walls from the XI century, resembles rather an immense castle, and it is the best sample of a fortified city. The old quartershas Romanesque churches, Gothic palaces, and a XII century Cathedral.

The city is the birth place of Ste. Therese, source of the Spanish Catholic mysticism. Visit the outskirts of the Cathedral, the Romanesque Basilica of San Vicente, Mayor Square, and go on a brief walk through its old streets to see the Convent of Ste. Therese.

Next up is Segovia. The city of Segovia is rich in historical monuments. The old Roman city, still preserves the magnificent Roman Aqueduct from the time of Emperor Augustus. See the elegant Cathedral, and its Alcazar fortress, which is known as one of the most spectacular castles in Spain.

  • We are a family of three people. The trip was well organized with 20 people in total. Our guide Catherine was excellent!

  • Lots to see. Worth the visit.

  • Excellent day and tour guide. Our guide was delightful. She was knowledgeable and translated every single word to ensure all travelors understood. She also gave us space to do our thing. This is a plus. Both cities are treasure troves of history and culture. Worth every penny.

  • Tour was great! Pablo was very friendly and personable! Got to see amazing sights and it was very enjoyable

  • Would have liked a bit more information, story telling about Saint Teresa and the Aqueduct

  • Our bus had 12 people and a seemingly disorganized, inexperienced tour guide lacking enthusiasm - at least for the Avila side. We were not told a whole lot about this town and it felt like a waste of time. Segovia was absolutely lovely and the guide, Barbara perked up after lunch to give an informative tour of the castle and cathedral. Improvements could be made on the Audio sound on the bus, how close she holds the microphone to her mouth and the overall quality of the presentation. I felt like this Avila part of the tour was given to a group of 1st graders with a limited attention span, but we were a group of 9 adults, 2 teens and 1 6 year old. Skip Avila, it has not yet developed tourism and is just a lovely wall and a couple chapels, not worth the time. Spend a day in Segovia - the Aqueduct was AMAZING and deserved much more time and explanation. Choose a different tour company.... due to this experience we went to Toledo on our own.

  • Great trip, well worth the 9 hours! Amazing sights, particularly the aqueduct in Segovia. Guide was really informative, with good English.

  • I highly highly (if i can, highly) recommend this. Everything about it was just perfect. The price is very reasonable. The length of the trip is enough. And Barbara, our guide is awesome! It’s worth it rather than jumping on and off trains to cover both cities.

  • Loved this tour especially the city of Segovia with its amazing aqueduct. Avila is a World Heritage monument and one of the oldest cities in Spain. The 17th-century convent of St. Teresa of Avila is located here which is a destination for Catholic pilgrims to Avila. Catherine was our tour guide and I highly recommend to do this tour with her.

  • Fantastic Tour! Pick up in coach was prompt. Small group tour and was able to have our own time in Segovia to look around which was perfect for us on a very hot summer day with 2 younger children. Avila and Segovia are both beautiful places to visit. We found a perfect place for lunch in Segovia too
