We booked a Discover Banff Tours guided walk through a third party. Unfortunately there was confusion over the start time (7:45 vs 8:00am) and we watched the bus drive away as we ran down the road. We called immediately at 8:00am and spoke to the supervisor but we were informed the bus couldn’t turn round. We asked if our booking could be moved to the following or another day with availability but this was refused and their only offer was for us to pay in full again and contact the third party based in England, not withstanding we were in Banff and we had already paid close to Ca$600 for the trip. We declined. We understand things can go wrong, but great companies try to help their clients when things don’t go to plan. In our experience, Discover Banff will not try to help and will place the full loss and burden of responsibility on you, their customer and we would therefore not recommend them to fellow travellers.

It was a hard course for me but it was worth of climbing. The view of the Castle Mountain Lookout never gets old. The guide is kind, friendly and intellectual. I truly recommend.

Tricky terms in itinerary made easy misunderstandings. Unfair to tourist without instant contact with the tour guide and/or local contact number.

The guide Kelsey was positive, energized, knowledgeable and made our hiking experience fun. As our hiking day trails were changed overnight, it was very new for our tour guide as well. The experience was completed without issues. It was nice and the mountains were beautiful. We had to park at the Hotel where we were picked up- please advise in your brochure…. It was an extra expense plus it was very difficult to find parking in Banff.

Did the Larch valley hike with our guide Neil. He was very knowledgeable about the area and provided us with a great lunch. The larches were lovely and only just starting to change colour. Stunning setting for lunch too

A great day out with the guide doing the plain of the six glaciers hike. The guide was knowledgable, friendly and helpful. He ensured our safety was a priority and had lots of insight into the history of Banff, it’s wildlife and the surrounding areas. We were picked up on time, the lunch was delicious and we completed the hike in good time. We can’t recommend this hike enough!

An excellent hike up to Stanley Glacier with Kelsey. Looked like the hike might not happen as cloud was low and not showing signs of clearing but she gave all of us the choice whether to go and being British of course we went! It was a great hike, and kelsey was really informative, funny and knowledgable. The clouds did clear and we got great views as we descended. Well worth doing and if we had time here I would book again.

This is a must do if you're in Banff. Signed up for the Stanley Glacier hike. Our guide Kelsey was very friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly, very accomodating. My mom was having some trouble since the switches on the mountain were more challenging than anticipated - Kelsey was patient and took lots of breaks to make sure she didnt feel rushed and had enough time to catch her breath when needed. Seriously, you cant go wrong with discover banff tours - they're professional and knowledgeable.

We were very pleased with this excursion and, particularly, the excellent narrative and guidance from Jeff. His background is impressive and he provided many insights into the history, geology and environmental challenges of the area surrounding the Stanley Glacier. As advertised, the hike is moderate in difficulty, so good physical shape is important. The lunch provided was plentiful, though, Trip Advisor did not communicate our preferences to Discover Banff Tours. Jeff was kind enough to give up his choice, so it all worked out. Recommend this outing for anyone looking for a wonderful day experience in the Canadian rockies.
