Know More about this tour

Begin your shore excursion of Bangkok at the Grand Palace, a must-see destination for all visitors in this fascinating city. Your guide will drive you by private, air conditioned vehicle to the Grand Palace, once the official home for the royal families of Siam, and take you on a private tour of the palace complex.

As you explore the Royal Funeral Hall and the Royal Coronation Hall, admire some of Thailands best examples of Buddhist sculpture and decorative art, as well as traditional Thai architecture mixed with European design.

Next, visit the ornately designed Wat Phra Kaew, Temple of the Emerald Buddha, a sacred Buddhist temple located deep within the Grand Palace grounds. Inside, be awed by Thailands most revered Buddha image, sculpted in the 14th century from a single piece of Jade to sit just over 2 feet (0.6 meters) tall in a magnificent shrine.

After a stop for lunch, your private guide will take you on a city sightseeing tour that includes three of Bangkoks 26,000 distinguished wats (temples). Visit Wat Traimit, Temple of the Golden Buddha, whose statue is made from solid gold weighing more than 12,000 pounds (5.5 tons). Learn how this fine example of Sukhothai-style art was discovered inside a layer of stucco plaster during construction of the temple.

Pass through Chinatown on your way to your next stop, Wat Pho, Temple of the Reclining Buddha Bangkoks largest and oldest temple. At 150 feet (46 meters) in length and 49 feet (15 meters) high, this Buddha is also the largest in Bangkok.

Afterward, visit Wat Benchamabophit, the Marble Temple, a magnificent monastery built from white Italian marble in the late 19th century, before your guide returns you back to the Bangkok port.

  • Excellent tour! Very informative! Vanda was an EXCELLENT guide who loves sharing her country with visitors! She and our Driver were waiting for our group at the port as soon as we got off the ship. We had a 2 hour drive from where our ship ported Laem Chabang to Bangkok, but Vanda made the drive fun and informative along the way. We learned the full name of Bangkok it's real name is the longest name of a city in the world! as well as some of the things we were seeing along the way. : Our fist stop on our tour was the Golden Buddha! Spectacular! Amazing! Beautiful! After we finished there, we were able to add on a longtail boat ride down the Chao Phraya River this is COMPLETELY OPTIONAL and you can pay cash if you choose to do it - I think it was 10 USD or 20 USD per person. If you have the opportunity, add on the longtail boat ride because you get to see the city from the river on your way to the Grand Palace. After our ship docked at a little restaurant, we walked through the restaurant and out to the street which was very close to the Grand Palace. Our next stop was the Emerald Buddha and the Grand Palace. Absolutely exquisite! MUST SEE! You cannot take photos of the Emerald Buddha, but it is worth it to see it and the Grand Palace. After this, we went to have lunch at a very tasty restaurant. Vanda ordered the dishes for us, so we were all able to eat family style with the food in the middle of the table and you were able to take as much as you wanted of each dish. There was more than enough food for everyone. There was a bottled water included with the lunch, but you were able to purchase a soft drink, tea, or beer if you chose. Our last stop for the day was the Reclining Buddha - wow...very impressive and very LONG and tall!! Take advantage of the cut out spots to take your photo with the Buddha! At all Temples, you must remove your shoes, so if walking barefoot is an issue, bring a pair of socks. At the Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha, both men and women MUST have your shoulder and knees covered. If you do not, they will not let you in...and you can go across the street and purchase a cover to wear while on the Grand Palace grounds. Highly recommend this tour! It was the highlight of my 11 day cruise!!! :

  • We were lucky to have a very experienced guide in Manob. He knew the best spots and how to minimise the effect of the crowds at the busiest sights. He took us to a lovely restaurant. It was a very satisfactory alternative to the on ship tour alternative.

  • Excellent guide Manob I am not sure if is the right spelling, smart, funny. Everything you can expect from a tour guide and more. Perfect day

  • Quality Car and Driver with an amazing world class tour guide !!! The guide provided not only detailed information on each venue but a total picture of country, people and lifestyle.

  • Our guide Joe was ready and waiting for us as we got off the ship.
We had a fabulous whistle stop day and managed to see more than we could have imagined in the few hours available to us.
We could not have asked for more, we felt like V.I.P'S as we were escorted through the crowds.
Joe was full of local knowledge and made our visit one we will never forget.
It was so much more personal and enjoyable than joining 40 plus people on the coach trip organised by the ship.
If we ever have the pleasure to return we will be contacting victor to arrange our excursions
Two very happy ladies from Liverpool Jackie and Rita

  • Excellent guide who gave an excellent oversight and introduction to sights visits. Readily organised river cruise in addition to planned itinerary at our request . Great choice of restaurant selected for lunch
    .

  • Very good trip, car and guide ready and waiting as we came of the ship. Was definitely a very good way of seeing as much of the sites in one day as the driver dropped us off outside each site and the guide knew all the short cuts and fast tracks to seeing everything and told us everything we wanted to know. It was a real experience! Plus the meal at a restaurant on the banks of the river was very good and good quality. I would highly recommend. We were back at the port in plenty of time.

  • A great tour. So much better having a private tour than being herded around by a cruise tour. Our guide Tan was very helpful and knowledgeable and also ensured we were hydrated by handing out cold water at every site.
Really pleased we did this tour.

  • our guide was well informed and took us to Bangkok, however it was a long transfer but worth the effort, it would have been a shame to miss the capital city. he showed us all the sights including the grand palace and ensured we arrived back to the ship on time. Enjoyable excursion

  • Guide was a fountain of knowledge in relation to the Grand Palace and temples we saw as well as making sure we were well hydrated with bottles of water and wet towelettes. nice Buffett lunch was included
