I want to begin by stating that our tour of La Sagrada Familia was without a doubt our BEST tour and BEST guide (Rod) during our entire 10 day tour of the Med. Rod brought the history and story of this landmark to life like we have never experienced before. That being said, the local tour operator, Explore Catalunya was the WORST we have experienced anywhere in the world we have travelled. Our group consisted of five couples, all family members travelling on the NCL Escape. We arranged to be picked up at the port at 8:00am. We confirmed this in writing several times prior to our cruise. The ship arrived on time but the port authorities did not "clear" the ship until 8:15. We were the first passengers off the ship only to find tour guides, reserved shuttles and buses lining the exit door...but not ours. We called the supplied phone number only to be told that our driver waited till 8:20 and then LEFT. Patricia suggested we take several taxis to her office and she would try to help us. With the help of a local speaking port employee, eventually she agreed to send (3) taxis to pick us up and join an already in progress tour. We lost 2 hours of our tour and the complete shopping portion at the end. Tour companies know that they need to wait for the passengers to be released from the ship before leaving them stranded. Worst tour company ever!

Sergi was excellent from start to finish. Nonstop sites and information. We would definitely recommend this excursion.

La Sagrada Familia was remarkable. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and made the entire tour an absolute delight

Jordi (I hope I spelled his name right) was our assigned tour guide. He's energetic, lively and knowledgeable. We walked through the town on our way and he explained a lot of details. He entertained us with tales/legends associated with the area. Sagrada Familia is really a site to behold, and knowing the stories behind the build really helped enhance the experience. My family enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend Jordi.

Sergio and Jorden were excellent guides and they provided a lot of extra information which made this a very informative and enjoyable experience.

Interior of Gaudi’s sagrada familia church just ahsome. Well worth the cost and time saving with the long lined

Our family of 3, including a teenager, did the full day tour in July 2022 and really enjoyed it. Our tour guide, Rod, was very knowledgeable about the history, architecture and cultural impact of the notable sites. We got in and out of the high-traffic sites with minimal wait time. Sagrada Familia was spectacular, as expected, and Rod really shared many details and historical facts that put the cathedral in better perspective. The "hidden gem" of the tour was visiting Park Guell in the afternoon. Another splendid example of Gaudi's genius. It's a long day and you do a lot of walking, but there are breaks interspersed. Even our teenager was impressed. It's a great way to see and learn about the region and highly recommended.

A day filled with a full balance of activity and knowledge! Jordi was absolutely the most charming, personable, and knowledgeable guide we could hope for! I enjoyed Barcelona so much because of all the historical and practical prospective!

This was most certainly not the best day for a tour walking because it was (perhaps unseasonably) just wet and cold enough to make outside uncomfortable. It was a small group tour with Judit who kept it interesting with commentary you would not get from a guide book and not from the guides provided in Sagrada Familia. The tour description provides an excellent outline of what to expect but not necessarily in the order listed. It is worth noting that Sagrada Familia is most certainly not just another European church - if you have seen a few you know what I mean. It becomes even more interesting with expert commentary on what you might not notice in the details or not understand why it was done like that. And that alone makes this tour exceptional. The tour ended at another strange Gaudi creation with self guides that responded to your location - no looking for numbers or device menus - a great use of technology.

This tour company is fantastic. They made all our tours so memorable. The guides are very knowledgeable and they really cared about our needs. The Sagrada Familia is so moving and spiritual, take your time and take in all that it has to offer. Our experience with EXPLORE CATALUNYA was fantastic, they were the nicest people to deal with.
