Know More about this tour

Pick up your bike at the rental shop located near Fisherman's Wharf, where you’ll be outfitted with a helmet, lock and the type of bicycle you selected when booking — a tandem or a Cannondale hybrid. Also when booking, select from a 3-hour or full-day rental period.

Then set out to explore the streets of San Francisco, perhaps riding all the way across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito, passing by Ghirardelli Square, Fort Mason, Marina Green and the Palace of Fine Arts on the way. When you reach Crissy Field, make a stop at Sports Basement, an 80,000-square-foot sporting goods store, where you can exchange your voucher (equal to the amount of your bike rental) for merchandise credit in the store — an excellent value.
Select from a huge array of gear, shoes, clothing, accessories, snacks or drinks. You have three days to use your store credit, so there’s plenty of time to roam the vast aisles of the store for sports equipment and other goods from brands like Nike, The North Face, Ray-Ban and ASICS. Make a purchase while you're out on your bike ride, or come back later.

If you make the popular bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito, you can put your bike on the ferry for the journey back to San Francisco (own expense) to return your bike at the end of your rental period.

  • Good points were that we got the value of the bike rental back in a voucher to spend at their store as promised. Store is huge so spending it was not a problem!
Slightly disappointed by the maintenance of the bikes. My chain came off just as we approached the Golden Gate bridge so we had to make a detour to their sports store to change the bike. They do have lots of bikes so make sure the one you get has plenty of oil on the chain.
Otherwise its a great idea and a good incentive for booking.

  • Lots to do in this wonderful city. It is rather windy in August and the evenings can be a bit chilly so be prepared. Bikes are a great way to explore the city but watch out for the hills.
Using this company is a great way to ride around and get a little shopping on the way. Makes the trips free!!. Well worth a visit.

  • Excellent value, used the credit from hiring the two bikes straight away as the Sports Basement shop is on the way when cycling to the Golden Gate Bridge. Shop was easy to find as it was on a bus route and the shop is actually called 'basically free bike rental'. Printed the vouchers off before we left home.
Word of warning make sure you are dressed warmly when you ride across the bridge as it was absolutely freezing! I wore two hoodies and leggings because it was so cold and shrouded in cloud all day. Either side of the bridge especially Sausalito was real warm and sunny.

  • GREAT!!!!! Free is real Free and realy good bikes.

  • The bikes were in great shape and the store credit was legit.
