Know More about this tour

Your San Sebastin cycle tour will start at one of the most iconic buildings in the city: the town hall, Ayuntamiento. Before we take off, youll get to mingle with locals, check out the antique carousel, and learn quirky facts like why there are so many small trees in this area, and how San Sebastin is connected to Japan.

Well follow the bidegorri bike path along La Concha beach up to the palace of Queen Maria Cristina, before arriving at one of the most local beaches in the city: Ondarreta.

From there, your San Sebastin tour will take you to the end of the bay, where nature meets civilisation. Youll discover some Basque modern art before veering through one of the citys oldest, most authentic neighbourhoods and toward a secret passage that connects two parts of the city. Youll ride through districts that show the many faces of San Sebastin, from the workers city to the aristocratic belle poque of the past as you follow the Urumea River back to the city centre, passing villas and bourgeois palaces. Youll also discover one of the most important buildings of San Sebastian, Kursaal a building thats linked with a kind of dark past.

As your cycle tour continues, youll get to enjoy the wild of the ocean and admire some brave surfers along Zurriola Beach, in the beautiful Gros district. Youll head toward the port area, one of our favourite places for appreciating the city, and a place where past and present meet (its also the entrance to the food heaven of pintxo bars, by the way very important to know!).

Youll ride back across the Monte Urgull battlefield and along the old city walls, and finish your San Sebastin cycle adventure down the contemporary Boulevard that separates the Old Town from the new part of the city.

So glad that we had locals showing us around and once the tour had ended, they recommended the best places to go in town for what every your heart desire.
Only gripe is that i didnt do it sooner.
    Thanks again Oihana

  • Awesome awesome way to get the lay of the land. Nanelia has excellent enthusiasm. Great history lesson as we went around. Loved her so much, I signed up for the hike the next day. Highly recommend this tour!

  • It was a great way to get to know San Sebastian in a tourist perspective, a bit of its history and modern daily life. Tomasz our guide was fun, accommodating and informative. Highly Recommend!

  • We have done city bike tours in Paris, Rome, and Barcelona and have found them to be great introductions to a city. We have done walking tours as well but find that bike tours cover so much more in the same amount of time.

So based on our past experiences, my husband and I looked forward to the tour I booked through Viator with Basque by Bike. The tour ended up exceeding our expectationsit was the best of the city bike tours weve done, and we liked the other ones very much!

Our tour guide, Tomasz, was a great guide. He is the owner of the company, speaks excellent English, has a great sense of humor, and is very knowledgeable about the city. There were only two others in our group that day. The 10-speed bikes were in excellent condition, with baskets to hold personal belongings. We also stored some at his office by the harbor, the meeting point. Tomasz was very safety conscious as well.

San Sebastian is a bike-friendly city, so we were on bike paths almost the entire tour. The city is very flat, making pedaling easy. The only hill we climbed was Mount Urgull, using a lift to get to the starting point. After that, it was mostly flat or downhill. Besides covering the typical tourist areas, the tour also included residential areas as well, so you really had a sense of the city beyond what tourists usually see. We learned a lot a about the history of San Sebastian along the way, and Tomasz was able to answer any question that came up.

I didnt want this tour to end. Book this tripyou wont be disappointed.
