Know More about this tour

When visiting a place allows you to immerse in its beauty and lets you reflect on the hope it holds as well as the opportunity to lend a helping handthe trip gives you a whole new meaning and a new level of satisfaction. That is what we aim for in the tour to Bassin Zima treat for all your senses and more. Bassin Zim is located in the Central Plateau, in the east of city of Hinche, about two hours from the Port-au-Prince. The trip will please your senses with panoramic view throughout.

Our first stop will be the Pligre Dam built on the Artibonite River, the longest river in Haiti. The Pligre Dam, a gravity dam at 72 m (236 ft), is the tallest dam in Haiti that impounds Lake Pligre. The dam provides energy throughout Haiti. Breakfast will be served before heading to our next stop.

Our next stop will be a local school . This trip is part of our social commitment to promoting childrens education in Haiti. For every booking we make, we donate $1.00 to that school. You are welcome to bring some school supplies to the kids in school. We will get there during the school break time so that you will have an opportunity to interact with the children. Children have an amazing quality to teach you and touch you even when you least expect it. We would love to hear about your experiences there.

We then head to the Bassin Zim, which is just eight kilometers away from Hinche. Bassin Zim is one of the hidden treasures of Haiti. It has waterfalls, coves, and caves with a view that is unparalleled. Before taking a dip at the waterfall, we will visit the Cave Herzulie (Haitian Loas) and the Bees Cave and see where a mass used to be celebrated every Sunday. These caves also contain artwork by indigenous Taino Indians before immigration and colonization. Bassin Zim is also regarded as a spiritual oasis and is believed to have healing powers. Believe it or not, it is up to you. But what we guarantee is that the picturesque view of the waterfalls, coves, and caves and the refreshing dip by the waterfall will take your breath away. Professional divers can jump and dive as the local kids will start the show. If you are not big into swimming, you can enjoy the natural pool created at the end of the waterfall.
We'll then return to Hinche, to a local restaurant, for a delicious reward of a Haitian style buffet lunch with drinks.
