Know More about this tour

Discover how beer is brewed and the fascinating story of German brewing. For as long as there have been Germans, there has been beer. From the ancient tribal Hausfrauen brew-women, through the great monastic breweries of the middle ages, to the revered Reinheitsgebot (Purity Law) of 1516, which continues to be the measure of excellence in brewing today. The world has looked to Germany to set the standards of what a cool drink of great beer should be. And Germany looks to Munich. We'll show you why.

You'll emerge, well informed on the different types of beer available as you sample them for yourself. Sample the best traditional Bavarian food including Weisswurst veal sausage, dumpling, roast pork, the celebrated Obatzda cheese and more. There's an exclusive private tour through the beautiful new Beer and Oktoberfest Museum in one of Munich's most historic buildings (standing since 1347) as well as a traditional beer garden to soak up before concluding at the world-famous Hofbruhaus.

Had one of the best times of our entire trip to Germany during this tour. Tour guide Dani did a fabulous job teaching us about the history of beer in Munich and made sure we had plenty to drink during the whole evening. The food was outstanding as well! What a great way to learn some history, meet fun people from all over the world, and enjoy some amazing German beer. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Munich!

Kevin was amazing! Very knowledgable about beer and took us to some beautiful beer halls! We took this tour and the Christmas Market tour with Lucy and feel like we had a good overview of the fod and beer scene in Munich!

Tour guide was friendly and provided lots of information regarding Bavarian food, dress and of course beer. Definitely a must do!

We enjoyed the tour and a lot about beer in Bavaria, how it’s made and its importance to the history and development of the region. However, while the guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, she moved so quickly at the start of the tour in the train station, my wife with her bad knees couldn’t keep up down the three flights of stairs. We got left in the dust and had to take two taxis ($24) to catch up, as the first taxi dropped us off in the wrong location. It got better after that, but it was very frustrating that the guide failed to count heads in a people packed train station.

This was my first Munich tour, and it was presented by Radius Tours. Our guide, Keith, was pleasant, but the tour is just a complete rush. We visited a beer museum, had 3 small samples with a little explanation and then ran through about a quarter of the museum. After that, it was off the beer garden where we had split 2 sample platters among 8 or 9 people at my table and were informed upon arrival (not earlier in the evening) that we'd need to buy our own beer here. The tour should be half the price or maybe 25, but that's it.

Dani our guide was terrific. History and beer and food all together for a great night out. Great beer and food and the Oktoberfest museum was awesome.

This was a pleasant, if straightforward tour that is good for getting yourself acquainted with Munich's food and beer scene on a simple level. Our guide Chloe was very nice and energetic - our time together began with having a beer at the tour office, before taking a tram to the Oktoberfest Museum. After more beer and pretzel samples, we then learned about the history of Oktoberfest and its current state. We then took the tram to dinner at a restaurant, which was really more of a (large) charcuterie plate, rather than a cohesive, proper meal. We then ended outside the Hofbrauhaus.

If you're looking for an overview of the Munich beer scene, then this is a good tour for you - it gives you some history and context, and can inform your plans on how to eat and drink for the remainder of your trip. However, it's not particularly heavy on knowledge, and the meals/drinks themselves were more akin to samples rather than a full-fledged experience. You will leave still wanting to eat and drink more.

Dan was our tour guide with a group of about 20 of us on a Tuesday night. We started off the tour with a beer outside of the tour office as Dan went over what the night would entail. After the beer, we went to the Octoberfest Museum and sampled three different styles of beer, ate a Bavarian pretzel and went upstairs to learn more about beer making history. We then set off to Hofbräuhaus' smaller restaurant for a tasting of Bavarian meats and cheeses, which were included in the price of the tour, and were able to order beers at our own cost. Dan gave an overview of each item on the plate and enjoyed dinner and beer with us before then dropping us off at the more well known Hofbräuhaus, where we could end the night on our own. Overall, it was a great experience! Dan was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and fun. It was great to try different styles of beer and food, which helped with decision making for the remainder of the trip. Highly recommend!!
