Know More about this tour

Enjoy a hassle-free pickup from your centrally-located Auckland hotel or the Sky City coach terminal, before we whisk you away on a comfortable air-conditioned coach. As we travel from Auckland to Paihia, you'll have the opportunity to relax, soak up the scenery and use the free onboard WIFI.

Upon arrival in Paihia, we head to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds for a guided tour of this historical site. Considered the founding document of the nation, the Treaty of Waitangi was signed by 43 Mori chiefs and the British Crown in 1840. Visit the Waitangi Treaty House, an elaborately decorated marae (Mori meeting house) and see a large waka (war canoe) as you learn more about Mori culture in New Zealand.

After your Waitangi visit, enjoy a short ferry ride to Russell for a 1-hour coach tour of this charming town. Discover why Russell was once known as the 'Hellhole of the Pacific' and see historical highlights including the Pompallier Mission, Christ Church and New Zealands oldest pub. Soak up panoramic views of the bay atop Flagstaff Hill and learn about the historical controversy surrounding the flagstaff back in the 1840s.

As your guided tour concludes in Russell, you'll have the opportunity to explore Russells cafes, shops, waterfront, museum and art galleries at your leisure before we board the coach for our return trip to Auckland.

The coach driver (I believe his name was Tony) was very informative and he made the trip really enjoyable. It was a great day.

Tour director didn't have our name on the list even though we booked so it stressed out from start. It wasn't well organized....and we spent too much time traveling and would have prefered seeing more. Overall sttessful and dissapointing.

Bay of Islands is a beautiful place. But you spend relatively much time going there.
The bus driver was friendly and gave a lot of information on the way up to Bay of Islands. A little hard to understand sometimes though.
The Treaty grounds are interesting, and the related story seems more important to New Zealand than we knew about.
The boat-trip to Russell was also nice. The guide that drove us around Russell and its surroundings,
in a minibus, was really good. Easy to understand and with very nice humor.

This tour is a very brief tour of a beautiful part of the North Island. It is a long drive, but for those with only a limited time, it packs in two very interesting sights with the vistas of the countryside. The guide/driver was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

I really enjoyed my trip. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, entertaining, and helpful when directing us where to go after we arrived. I enjoyed everything about the trip.

  • 04-Oct-2018

Excellent, informative guides. Exquisite vistas....must do if visiting the north island.

  • 18-Apr-2018

    Great views!

  • 26-Mar-2018

The coach driver, Shelly, was amazing. The guide at the treaty signing memorial was excellent. I would not recommend the Russell mini tour. It was just a person pointing out houses and saying how much they cost.

  • 16-Mar-2018

Good tour. Not too happy with the way they kept us waiting so they can accommodate passengers from other trips who wanted to caome back to Auckland. Probably not going with this company.

El lugar es lindo, pero te ofrecfen tour en español y después no es así, por lo cual no entendí absolutamente nada, si hubiera sabido, no lo cotnrataba.
