Our tour takes us to the Kerikeri Mission Station which was established in 1819. There are two significant buildings, "The Stone Store" built in 1832, originally used as a Missionary Society warehouse and the adjacent "Kemp House", New Zealand's oldest building completed in 1821/22 by missionary carpenters and Maori sawyers.
Makana Confections specialises in gift-quality confections - all hand-made and using only the freshest, natural ingredients available to them. Like a winery / cellar door you can watch how the chocolates are made, taste a few samples and, of course, shop for delicious chocolate
There is short walk from the car park to the stunning Rainbow Falls, which is accessible by wheelchair. There are three stunning viewing platforms at the top of the Rainbow Falls. All of which offer great photo opportunities.
We have lunch (vegetarian & gluten free options available) here along with a glass of local wine or craft beer. The Plough & Feather sits on the very land where Europeans and Maori first lived together peacefully. The menu reflects this with dishes that combine classic English meals and pub food with local accents, ingredients and flavours.

Our tour guide Ken took us on a wonderful tour of the Bay of Islands, the glow worm caves was a highlight, so too the toilet designed by Hundertwasser. Ken was extremely professional and knowledgeable about this beautiful area of New Zealand

Had a wonderful and very informative private tour with our lovely guide Ken. It was all worth it as we've been to a lot of tourist places around the islands. Exceeded our expectations of the tour. Highly recommended if you're stopping by the island.

Great time with Graham. Despite the rain we were on the bus so stayed out of most of it. Loved seeing the glow worms!

We took this tour from our cruise ship Solstice on Jan 18 2019, we were a group of 6 adults, and we were met by our guide Ken, who provided an excellent tour which was very informative, and he was very personable and the tour included the Haruru falls, and Glow worm caves which were our favorites. We also stopped by a chocolate factory, and visited the Kerikeri mission and Puketi Kauri forest area. If was a full tour day and we were back to our ship pier location on time, and happy with our very educated tour. Thanks Ken!
