During the tasting you will try at least six different beers and ales, brewed in Iceland. Each beer is paired with a locally sourced Icelandic course served tapas style. Taste fish that was caught the same day from the pier outside the window and lamb that was raised free-range.

  • There were far too many people for one event - about 28. It wasn't a tour at all. We stayed in one bar the entire time. The beer tasting was fine, but the tapas were minimal. We stopped for a decent meal on the way home. The event was way overpriced for the experience.

  • The tour was really great. The beer and the food were tasty. Need to improve on the directions on how to get to the facility. People leading the tour were really easy to talk to and with. I would recommend this tour.

  • Very entertaining guides, and delicious and relatively inexpensive foodbeer considering Iceland's prices. We didn't go from place to place but rather stayed in one restaurant the whole time. I would've preferred we changed environments so we could've seen more of the local scene.

  • We arrived late, the Brewery was a little confused at first, but eventually we found our way to the group. And they welcomed us with open arms. Our host, Dora, was superb and very fun!

Afterwards the group hung out together and went to a few more pubs. All in all, it was a great experience!

  • A great evening at the Bryggian micro brewery including a tour from Dom. Well worth doing....great atmosphere, good food, well matched beers to the food served. Totally recommended.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed this. The food and beer pairings were great and our host was awesome. We ended up partying with the other 4 people we met on this deal after dinner was done.

  • This was such a fun tour!! The food and beer separately were great, and paired together made sense. The brewery was great and our host Dory was awesome!! She was personable and let us understand the lifestyle of the people of Iceland. Highly recommend this tour.

The beer is also the best we had in Iceland!

  • A huge waste of money and not a tour at all. You go to a single location and are given tasting flights of 6 beers with accompanying small emphasis on small tapas. There was no explanation of the beers other than what the waitress provided when she dropped them off and zero discussion of the food. This was something we could have done on our own easily and for less money.

The host literally spent the majority of the evening with her back to us, ignoring us and talking only to the other guests. She actually left before we did without even saying goodbye.

Lastly, on our voucher from the group, it instructed us to go to a totally different bar. We waited and asked at the other bar, finally calling the number provided and were told oops, that's where it used to be, they changed it. So we were 15 minutes late for the event.

Would not recommend this at all - I heard other tourists talking about better food/beer tours available.

  • Based on another person's review and recommendation, we booked this for our first night in Reykjavik. A great choice. It was a wonderful way to learn about the country, the people, the food, and the traditions, and keep us awake until a reasonable bedtime. The tour was held at the Bryggian Brugghus and included 6 small plates of very good and interesting foods, and 6 excellent beers. Our tour guide, Dory, was very knowledgeable and entertaining, and for 2 hours, told us Icelandic history, stories, trivia, and fun tales. There were 12 of us in the group, and she tailored her information to our questions. Candy, our server, was also AMAZING. Kept us in food and beer, and with lots of smiles, enthusiasm, and just generally great service.. Would highly recommend.

  • Not as advertised! This was not a tour. We met at the Bryggian Brewery and that is where we stayed the entire evening. Our local host had very little interaction with the group. Yes, we did sample 6 different beers, the best part of the evening. And yes, we did sample 6 Icelandic courses, sample being the operative word. They were not tapas sized in the opinion of our group of 8. We have been on other food tours in other cities, where we walked from venue to venue learning about the city, its history and architecture. This was our expectation, and sadly, this was not our experience.
