Great day from start to finish mainly due to our tour guide James who was incredibly fun! All the four places that we stopped to have Pizza were very enjoyable.....very well organised day, comfortable mini bus that took us from A to B...
The pizza was amazing of course but our tour guide James made the tour! Lots of laughs, lots of fun, and the perfect amount of food!
This was a great tour! James our guide knows pretty much everything about pizza and has been to hundreds of different pizza places. We went to Pizanos with 3 different pizza types, then to Flo and Santos where we tried Polish pizza, which was amazing along with an Italian meat pie and a sausage one, all thin crust. Then off to Coalfire where we could have tried 4 or 5 very thin coal fired pizzas. Tried to save room for the sausage deep dish at Bertoli. Everything was great! The transportation was in a very nice party bus. Highly recommended this tour if you love pizza!
Great tour! Lots of good info from our guide John. A little more info than I needed, but most people found it interesting. We got two full slices of deep dish, two full slices of thin crust, 5 traditional square slices of thin crust, and more for those that wanted seconds, so plenty of pizza to fill you up and make it a great value! We were able to and NOT pressured to order drinks at every location. Some places didn’t even charge for soda. I found out I don’t really like the crispy crust of most of the pizzas, but the toppings were great.
This was by FAR one of the best food tours we've ever done! What's fantastic is that you are on a bus so you get to go to places that are off the beaten path and not overrun with tourists. Go hungry because you will try 8 different kinds of pizza - and they don't skimp on your portions!! We had a great time, and I'd recommend this to anyone who loves pizza. Never knew the history of the different types of crusts, styles, etc. until we did this tour. Thanks for a really fantastic day!
We had a great time. The host was very nice! The bus was much nicer than we expected. Our 4.5 and 7 yo made it through 3 as well!
Greg was awesome and full of knowledge. Fun tour would recommend and do again. I would like to do other spots on the next one
We loved the pizza at all four stops. Each was very different - thin crust, deep dish, different styles of tomato sauce, wide variety of "Chicago" specialty toppings. James was very nice and quite knowledgeable about Chicago pizza and pizza in other cities. Depending on the restaurant, you are seated in groups ranging from tables for 4 to one large table for the entire group. We tried to move around to meet most of the people on the tour. It was nice talking with so many people from various backgrounds. My husband and I took this tour on a Sunday. It was a great way to finish our weekend. The luxury shuttle bus was very comfortable. My husband uses a cane and it was quite easy for him to maneuver on and off the shuttle.
Our experience was amazing. Greg was hilarious and knowledgeable. He kept us entertained in between stops and taught us so much about the history of pizza in Chicago. We went to 4 different spots and tried different styles of pizza. It was a terrific experience.
It's one thing to go on a tour, but adding food to it totally amplifies the experience. This is a must while visiting Chicago! Our tour guide was hilarious and informative while he guided us through four pizzerias and the history behind Chicago-style pizza. The tour was well organized and everything ran smoothly. Plus, there's...so much delicious pizza. You'll be stuffed and want to take a nap by the end of it, but the discomfort is 100% worth it. Highly recommend!
