Overview
Every city has its shopping and coffee culture but Belfast city has a unique past after coming out of 30 years of conflict.Your guides are the original drivers who had to transport their communities through the bullets and bombs of THE TROUBLES and have their lives at risk every time they seat in their black cabs.
The North of Ireland has become famous for the murals painted in almost every area of the country . These pictures of IRA ,UVF murals are often flashed around the world on news bulletins or used as a backdrop when interviewing people. They often depict the history and political views of both traditions and are a way of marking territory. These wall paintings often look intimidating but they have become as much of a tourist attraction as many of the regular attractions within Belfast and beyond.

The trip was very thought provoking & informative and the driver made it fun considering the very serious subject matter. The driver was down to earth friendly and definitely knew his stuff! He gave a very concise overview of the situation whilst maintaining a very neutral/non biased opinion. He welcomed questions and we certainly asked plenty. We would totally recommend this tour.

We did the black taxi political mural tour of Belfast. We have just spent 6 week overseas and this tour was definitely one of the highlights of our holiday. Brendan who was our driver had so much personal knowledge and passion having grown up in West Belfast. He was so warm and personable and shared so much with us. I have a strong interest in this period of time and I loved this tour. It was brilliant.

Our guide, Marty, was amazing. He showed us what we felt to be a truly 'make up your own mind' tour by presenting facts and experiences that provided the information we were really looking for.
-
This was an incredible experience. Our driver, Stephen, was so knowledgeable about the region and answered all of our questions with such detail. We learned so much about the Troubles and how they're still impacting politics and lived experiences in Belfast today. We all loved Stephen and this tour is definitely something that is going to stick with us.

Touring Belfast was exciting especially being escorted by a local Irishman. A must-see experience that will stay with you forever.

John (JR) was very informative. Challenging some of our perceptions of the past and present. Fascinating. Returned home ready to read more about it. Signed the peace wall. Plenty of opportunity to get out of the taxi and see the murals up close.

Awesome and informative tour from our guide, Kevin with Taxi Trax. A local in his early 60s who lived through The Troubles (and may have participated), Kevin was extremely knowledgeable and included a couple of "special" stops that were particularly interesting. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to know more of Belfast and The Troubles.

Excellent tour, Brendan was a star, explained everything and answered questions and was very friendly. It is clearly a topical and fresh issue, and he explained things sensitively and with hope that things will continue to change and improve for the better for everyone.
