We went on a 1 day tour in January. First stop was the zoo at 7.45am to see the pandas, then a walk around Summer Palace (note: you do not go up to the palace) and then the tour takes a swift turn at 10.30am to be all about selling. We were taken to a pearl factory where there is immense pressure for you to buy things and then a tea ceremony where we were scammed by sales people and ended up paying $115 AU for two 100g teas! Disgraceful to take advantage of tourists like this and the experience was certainly ruined after that. The guides clearly make commission off sales and encourage it instead of protecting against. Would not recommend.

We didn't spend more than 10 minutes at the Zoo and wasn't able to visit gift shop. We spent too long at Summer Palace but no boat ride just many stories which I didn't understand as the guide spoke so fast. Then we visited a place for a foot massage which wasn't on the itinary where they sold Chinese herbal medicine to some at 200 pounds a time. Then the lunch was so bad I couldn't eat it- the place where lunch was was so grotty. Then we were taken to a place where they try to sell you silk duvets also not on itinary. Arrived back later than expected -not dropped at hotel due to traffic just a few mins walk though. The group we were with lovely.

Panda House and Summer Palace were excellent. Temple was temple too many, BUT, the objection was the not advertised shopping for commissions for herbs, tea and silk, This is a good three hour tour stretched into 6+ hours so the owner can get commissions from the tour guests buying stuff. Driver and guide are competent.

The guide was knowledgeable but the entire tour was very very rushed to make room for the silk and pearl shops at the end. Would have preferred more time at the temple and the summer palace but we were very quick there

Guide always on the run. We finished the whole tour by 11am. The lunch was horrible. Not recommending this tour. Have to call their office of the details of the pick-up. No confirmation sent to the hotel receptionist nor a call or an advice and there was even a last minute change of tour guide.

Tour was great, especially if you are looking for a way to see many attractions in one day! I gave 4 instead of 5 stars because we were taken to a pearl store at the end and hounded to buy things when we just wanted to head back to the hotel. Our guide Cynthia was amazing though, she took many pictures and told us a lot of interesting facts about china’s History!

Tour was ok but be prepared for brief visit to pandas, an hour at Summer Palace which is definitely not enough and hour, at most, at the temple. Hard sell at the silk factory - they are determined to sell silk duvet covers. Tea ceremony was interesting - but another opportunity to get your credit card working.

We chose this tour only because it includes the pandas and I wanted my daughter to be able to see them. It was the best part of the tour. You see them in the morning when they are eating and active. We then went to the Summer Palace and Lama Temple which were great to see but our time at each place felt very rushed. And then a very average lunch and on to a tea ceremony and silk museum where we were not rushed at all as they tried to sell us tea and silk products. All of these stops and we were still back at the hotel by 1:30. This was the cheapest tour we took so if you want to squeeze a bunch of activities in a short amount of time and save some money then this is the tour. I have to add that we had a very good tour guide, Maria, who was very informative and patient with our daughter and she’s the reason we give this tour 4 stars instead of 3.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and could tell us a lot of interesting things. It would have done the tour well if either more time had been available or the program would have been shorter. So we have been through all the stations in a great hurry and constant hustle and bustle.
