Join us for a once in a lifetime adventure that evokes all the nostalgia and allure of the Africa of by-gone eras. It’s your chance to have an authentic safari experience with sightings of game and birds in their unspoiled natural settings. You will not forget the beautiful wilderness of Botswana’s Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park, the lushness of Namibia’s Caprivi region and Zimbabwe’s Victoria Falls.
Day One:
Transfer from Maun International Airport to lodge on the banks of the Thamalakane River. Late afternoon sunset cruise looking for the abundant bird life and the occasional hippo and crocodile. Overnight at lodge.
Day Two:
View the Okavango Delta from an eagle’s perspective by going on a breathtaking one hour private charter flight, (optional, for own account). Alternatively explore Maun with an early morning walk. After breakfast at the lodge, depart Maun and travel northwesterly along the panhandle of the Okavango Delta, an area famous for prolific wildlife, birds and fish. Spend the next 2 nights at a lodge alongside the Okavango River.
Day Three:
Optional (for own account) mokoro day trip. (NB you will not be back in time for the sundowner cruise today.) The rest of the group will enjoy a day at leisure. Late afternoon sundowner cruise on the Okavango River. Overnight at lodge.
Day Four:
Cross the border post between Botswana and Namibia and enter the Mahango National Park to enjoy a game drive. Rare species found here include bushbuck, reedbuck, lechwe, tsessebe, oribi and sitatunga. Continue to Popa Falls, where we take a short walk and then enter the Caprivi Strip. Overnight on the banks of the Kwando River.
Day Five:
Enjoy an early morning game drive. Tour a traditional village, learn about local fishing and hunting techniques and the local Medicine Man will also show you dances to cure illnesses. Optional early morning or sunset boat trip on the Kwando River (for own account). Overnight on the banks of the Kwando River.
Day Six & Seven:
Enter Botswana via the Ngoma border post. Enjoy a game drive in the Chobe National Park and sunset cruise on the Chobe River. Encounter the largest concentration of elephants in Africa, in Chobe National Park. Spend the next 2 nights at the lodge.
Day Eight & Nine:
Travel to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Guided tour of the Victoria Falls and rainforest. Activities available (optional and for own account) include Flight of the Angels, elephant back safari, lion walk or a sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River. Spend 2 nights at a lodge in the Victoria Falls.
Day Ten:
Transfer from the lodge to Victoria Falls or Livingstone Airports for your outbound flight.
