Rome is an open-air museum: it has thousands of monuments in an area of more than 80 kms. Now, covering all of these monuments on foot may seem impossible. Hence, this tour involves a ride. With our Best of Rome Segway Tour one can cover all the main highlights of the city in just half a day, without getting tired at all!
The adventure starts at our office, located just behind the Colosseum, where our friendly and smiling staff will welcome you. Don't worry if you don't know how to ride the segway! Before the tour departs you will have 30 minutes of training with your tour leader: we will make you a professional rider in just few minutes!
Helmets on, ready to go! Your experience will begin with a small race at the Circus Maximus, the famous Roman arena. The first stop will be at Marcellus's Theatre - a small copy of the Colosseum - and, from there, you will glide through Roman streets of the city centre to reach Campo de Fiori, known especially for the daily street market and for the active nightlife. Just round the corner there is the artistic Piazza Navona - where you will see Bernini's Fountain of the Four River - and the impressive Pantheon, the Roman temple famous for its hole in the dome. There is no need of introduction for the next stops, the magical Trevi Fountain - now open again after 17 months of restoration - and, last but not the least, Spanish Steps.
At each stop, your tour leader will give you a personal iPod on which you will see some video-explanations about each monument, full of historical references, trivia and tips about each of them: just sit, press play and enjoy the video!
This fun and informative tour will give you the chance to discover all the highlights of the Eternal City and even more without tiring you out! We will wait for you at our office - behind the Colosseum - where your tour will start and end. There’s restrooms, water, coffee and free Wi-Fi available for you here.
