Myeongseongsan is a mountain which is located in Pocheon-si of Gyeonggi-do. It has an elevation of 922.6 m. It holds Sanjeong Lake at the bottom of the mountain, it is renowned for its beautiful fall foliage and fields of silver grass. Many Koreans visit here for hiking every autumn when the grass is in bloom. The Myeongseongsan Eulalia Festival in Sanjeong Lake held on every year from the end of September to the beginning of October since 1997. This is the best place for people who want to enjoy the scenery of silver grasses. There are various performances, food tastings and markets for specialities of Pocheon city during festival. We will takes around 1.5 hours from Seoul to Myeongseongsan by private vehicle. And then start to hiking. Duration of hiking is around 3-4 hours and the distance is around 7km. Jainsa Temple located in rugged cliffs of Myeongseongsan Mountain. Visitor can enjoy the view of Sanjeong lake and cliffs together. Sanjeong Lake is one of the main attractions in Pocheon. It was built as a reservoir to supply water to farmlands in 1925.
