Know More about this tour

Board the open-top, double-decker bus at any of the 14 stops to start your hop-on hop-off sightseeing tour of Chicago, and listen to live commentary through provided earphones to find out fun facts about the city and its iconic architecture. The full circuit takes about about 2 hours, but you can hop off and back on as many times as you. Buses run regularly, giving you flexibility to discover the city at your leisure.

The bus route takes you through Grant Park, known by locals as Chicagos front yard, 319 acres (129 hectares) located in the citys business center. Perhaps hop off at Millennium Park and gaze at your warped reflection in the world-famous Cloud Gate, more commonly known as The Bean, an outdoor art installation made of polished stainless steel. Or if you're an art lover, don't miss the nearby Art Institute of Chicago, home to 300,000 works of art from the Impressionist, Post-Impressionist and American eras of painting, including Nighthawks by Edward Hopper and American Gothic by Grant Wood.

As the bus crosses the Chicago River and rolls onto the Magnificent Mile, you can admire some of the tallest buildings in the United States, like the John Hancock Center and the historic Water Tower. Trip was very good and informative. A couple of minor detours due to preparations for the Halloween parade that had the driver giving updates which got confusing with the headset narration, but minor niggle. Dorothy sold us our ticket, and very good she was too. Knowledgeable, no pushy upselling, shared experiences, things a local knows and worthwhile info about extending the trip, and adding on the boat tour. Track Dorothy down (she was at Navy Pier the day we bought our ticket) and was a lovely, cheerful person. She even spotted us walking around the city and came over to see how we'd gotten on a few days later.

The bus tour was nice the recorded narration of the city was good information. Being able to get on and off the bus was nice. I could not find a parking close enough to the first bus pick up. I used the big bus app and it wasn’t that helpful. It was not working until later in the day. Finding the spot for the 2 stop was not easy but once we notice the man in the red jacket. Once you are on the bus it gets easy. Over all nice experience.

Was very good tour with many great stops to see the city. Wanted to get out more but it was cold and windy.

We had 3 drivers one great one and one who was cool the 3 one obviously doesn't do his job well no commentary on the history of the rout didn't call out the spots we were stopping at which in turned caused us to miss a few stops we wanted to get off and check out stuff .befor we realized we missedem it was to late to go back

Just a ride. Unable to hear the narration and learn about the city. Is worth the hop-on, hop-off aspect (city transportation) only

Big Bus Chicago was a great way to get an idea of the city's history and attractions during a 2 hour tour. The tour gives one a good idea of what is available and helped my brother and I decide on the things we wanted to do. Our driver, Anton, was excellent. Very knowledgeable, informative, and humorous, he also did an excellent job of pointing out items on both sides of the tour bus. I'd recommend Big Bus Chicago and Anton to everyone.

We normally love taking hop on hop off tours in new cities but this one was a dud. There is no live narration - you are listening to prerecorded audio that has very little info and sounds like it was made for children. Half the time, it wasn't even synced to our actual location. Spent $90 for two people (and that's *with* the discount for buying ahead) and it was a complete waste. An uber driver we had one day gave us a better guided tour.

We have taken Hop on / Hop off tours in many cities. We always feel it is a great way to get an overview of the city. I didn't feel the commentary was very good. The ear buds played more music than commentary ......a couple of the drivers never said a word except to announce a stop. We still enjoyed seeing the sights. And the ability to Hop off whenever we wanted. We felt that we saw a lot in two days

The bus driver spoke over the commentary that you get through the headset which was very distracting. Wasn't sure who to listen to. The commentary was not good - too much music, silly wee quizzes about famous people who came from Chicago and not enough factual information. Very disappointing and grossly overpriced. Not worth the money. Just a means of getting round the city and there are much cheaper ways to do that.

Trying to find where to park and catch the bus, not good, need to have more signs and people who know were to get the bus
