The best way to get out to My Son and the ancient town ruins is by bike, not sitting in a car for several hours. This fantastic ride out to the temples goes through the countryside on back roads. This offers a rare insight into how the locals live now, as well as taking a step back in time by visiting the ancient temples.
A minimum of 2 people per booking is required.

Know More about this tour

This trip starts right from our office at 8am. We ride right through the Old Quarter of Hoi an to a ferry that takes us across the Thu Bon River to Cam Kim carpentry village. The boat ride is short (5 minutes), but very scenic with village life played out along the shores. At the carpentry village everything from wooden handicrafts, to the construction of massive wooden hull boats is undertaken.

From the village we head off on small village roads and meandering dirt footpaths. We ride through an endless series of small farms growing everything from sweet potatoes to peanuts. In between the villages and small farms that we pass through are wide open expanses of rice paddy fields painted in a dozen shades of green.

At about the halfway point (23 kilometers, we stop for a quick fruit break to restore our energy for the remainder of the ride.
Those in decent shape should have no problem pushing through the final 20 kilometers, which hugs the river side at time and passes more stunning farms that are nestled against the hill sides.

We arrive in My Son at around 12:30pm-1pm (depending on how fast you bike). We'll have a picnic lunch either at My Son or a shaded area along the way.

It takes about 1.5 hours to visit temples, but people are encouraged to take their time and see things at their own pace. We'll use the vehicle to return to Hoi an and try to return by 3pm-4pm. We can finish the trip at our office, or we can drop you off right at your hotel.

This bike tour to My Son was the highlight of our Hoi An trip, we were lucky to have a very small group with one other person. We had a lovely guide who was happy for us to stop and take photos along the way, as well as regular stops to rest. He was very informative and spoke very good English. The scenery along the way was beautiful, you would not get to see this taking a bus or car. We stopped and spoke with farmers working on their land and were able to ask them questions about their farm. The ride was mostly flat and along cement paths. We stopped to have lunch at a place before My Son.The Bun Cha was excellent. My Son was an amazing place and our guide had was very knowledgeable about the area. I would do this tour again if I returned to Hoi An and I would recommend doing this tour with this company they were very professional and were happy to take us back to our hotel even though we had ridden our bikes to the meeting place that morning. They put our bikes in the van and drove us back to our hotel. A great day!!!

We really enjoyed our bike trip. Our tour guide, Tingh, was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. He guided us safely through the streets of Hoi An to the boat dock where we took a boat and then our bike ride started. We saw many sights and our guide would stop to talk briefly about wherever we were and give us a rest. We even visited his in laws' house. We stopped for a traditional Vietnamese meal before reaching My Son. Tingh gave us information about the site and then gave us time to explore and take photos. We were brought back to Hoi An by van. It was a great day and I highly recommend this tour!!

I did this cycle on a very hot day with a 90 humidity and was fearing the worst, but it was great.....even in those conditions.
and as a result booked another trip two days later
The bike was a good mountain bike in good condition and a of gears
80 of the time you cycle on the concrete paths between the villages in between the rice fields , or lovely villages.where there is a lot of shade
The guides we had two were fantastic. They ensured that there were plenty of breaks that all were comfortable and gave us plenty of insight on life in the villages.
Great lunch you feel you have deserved it after a 42 km cycle and than the walk around the temples, which was very informative.
I had a great day out and highly recommend the tours, just ensure that you are reasonably fit so you truly enjoy buzzing around the county side rather than puffing along

This was the highlight of my trip to Vietnam. Cuong, our guide, was very well informed about My Son and the surrounding areas, and had a really great personality. We got to see and photograph rice fields and small villages along the way, and we stopped for lunch at a small cafe that served large crackers that we broke into our soup. The My Son sanctuary itself was magnificent. Definitely not to be missed if you go to Hoi An.
